    Cons

Always understaffed but they want things done at a certain time. They hire inexperienced managers. Jus a bad place to be employed. Bad environment.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They still pay in US dollars. I took 15 minute smoke breaks once every 2 hours.

    Cons

Working five departments, all in one shift. Asked to finish a task, then told to get carts off the lot, unload the truck, check out customers on the front end, and still expected to somehow finish said task in your department. Angry customers, department manager stressing out all the time, coworkers who try to work as little as possible throughout their shift. Walmart was the worst job I've ever had, I'm ashamed to have ever worked for this company.when I asked for a raise, they told me to check out food stamps and welfare, "it's there for people like you!." I told them I didn't want the governments help, I want what I've earned!

    Advice to Management

I worked there 5 years ago. I quit because your mgmt wrote me up for being 5 minutes late, and later on that night asked me to stay 1 hour after my shift. I told them no, that I would stay 5 minutes and no more. They tried to write me up again the next day for it, and I quit. Someone that works on your 110 degree parking lot 8 hours a day, constantly lifting soil, mulch, and stone, should be allowed tips. Your managers were some of the most inexperienced people I've ever worked for, never helping always demanding, always running away when it was time for real work. Walmart hires managers that have never experienced the life of a Walmart grunt. My only advice to you is that you close down all your stores and quit being a disaster to everything around you. i will never work there, it was the worst job I've ever had, I'd rather wash dishes for 8 hours than listen to your managers talk about themselves.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They will hire anyone. It makes for quite the...diverse workforce.

    Cons

    Low pay
    Low morale

    Everything typical of retail positions.

    Advice to Management

They already know what to do but there's no benefit to improve when there's an expanding pool of applicants for jobs.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you can find a decent walmart, the Managers can make the job semi-painful, otherwise you will hate your life.

    Cons

The pay, Any kind of upper management doesn't care about you, raises are annually and at most 0.60 but most people see 0.40 raises(that I knew)
Working environment can be hazardous. I actually walked by a stacked pallet, not 1 minute later someone was going to move it and literally a ton of water fell 10 feet because someone decided to stack it on half a pallet of misc goods. How it had not fallen earlier is a mistery.

    Advice to Management

    Care about your employees.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Received many bonuses, but honestly their is really no benefits.... Employees are really under paid and only receive .40 cents raises once a year.

    Cons

I honestly did not like working for the company I feel as though the company doesn't really care about the employers... In the pharmacy we closed on all holidays but outside of the pharmacy many employees worked every holiday except Christmas. I also felt as though the company would take "customer service" way to over board by letting the customers disrespect the employees. Walmart is really not a company I would recommend if you don't have thick skin and high tolerance.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Walmart is always trying to save it's customers money. For this they will always be a good store.

    Cons

They need to imporve how their managers treat employees. The advancement there can be quick, and people are thrown into postions with out the proper training. They may recieve instrustions and guideance on how to physically do the job, but the lack in how they treat the people around them.

    Advice to Management

More training in people skills and understanding. reward for hard work instead of be littleing them and trying to break them down.
