I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best part of working here was being let go.

    Cons

It was a horrible place, Management is rude and the job is stressful.

    Advice to Management

    Get a job somewhere else.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The co workers can be excellent to each other when given the chance and not overly bogged down with more work than could possibly be expected

    Cons

Management doesn't know what they're doing half the time, leading to impossible assignments which either lack the people power or resources to complete on time

    Advice to Management

Understand what your associates are going through and try to help when ever possible. Your busy we get that, but some of the things asked of associates who are given very little training are insane

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay and a few cool coworkers are really the only pros. Everything else about the job was really horrible.

    Cons

    Management plays favorites
    Customers are rude
Hours fluctuate depending on if the managers like you
And essentially anything else about the comoany

    Advice to Management

Stop letting people sit around and do nothing and constantly hounding the people who actually work

    Pros

Get to move around a lot, not standing in one place

    Cons

Don't have enough help for all the carts. Managers always hollering at you. Don't treat employees with respect.

    Advice to Management

    Make managers respect their employees.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some good employees. 10 Percent Discount

    Cons

No chance for advancement unless you kiss managers butt. The Raise starting pay to $11 hour. you make under 11 you raised to $11 making you the same rate as a new hire no matter how long you are. You make over #11 you get no raise at all. They also changed full time from 36-40 hrs to 32 hrs without notice. No discount on Food. Bad Sick time policy

    Advice to Management

    Treat Employees betterand fairly

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free food on holidays. 15 minute breaks every two hours (sometimes). Pays alright.

    Cons

Long hours or no hours. Lots of standing, bending, lifting. Management not really concerned for employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to our complaints. Give raises so we can drive to do better. Give us a steady schedule.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Quarterly Bonuses, Decent pay, No fear of the building closing

    Cons

Management most of the time has never worked in your position so they will make decisions that make 0 sense. Policy is their God, even if policy is not best for the specific situation

    Advice to Management

Use a divisional management structure. As an APA in Philadelphia I should not have the same policies as someone in the suburbs. My job was frequently violent and I knew that you (upper management) would fire me on the slightest deviation from your policy even if it meant that I was protecting myself or others.
