I have been working at Walmart (More than a year)

    Pros

Good advancement opportunities if your willing to put in extra hours. It can be a good working environment if ran right.

    Cons

Can be very demanding and requires more time then your scheduled shift. Being salaried you are basically working for free past your schedule.

    Advice to Management

    Stability is key

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They have benefits and potential to bonus. The other employees who work there become like your second family.

    Cons

They don't care about you being sick. They make you kill your overtime even if they ask you to stay past your shift. The management team have favorites so it's hard to get promoted without kissing butt and no matter how hard you work or how many hours you put in they are never satisfied with the outcome of your work.

    Advice to Management

I think that managers should be moved to different stores every 6-12 months to avoid cliques ei g formed. I also think that you guys should stop over using the people that do alot of work and start holding the lazy people accountable for their lack in performance.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are nice and respectful. Most of the customers are nice.

    Cons

NOT ENOUGH TRAINING! Open on Thanksgiving.

    Advice to Management

Don't promote people to Department Manager and then put them on their own without the proper training and help. Then when things are not working out blame the new Department Manager for everything and then demote them.!

After 3 months, you get a discount card which will you 10% off every transaction. You have a lot of opportunities to move up in the company.

    Cons

Associates and managers can be hard to deal with at times. Have to be on your feet most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Treat your associates as you would want to be treated. You are human just as we all are. Remember that!!

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Wal-mart has everyday low prices, Nice size, Friendly associates

    Cons

    treats their employees like crap
pays one shift near minimum wage to work in a warehouse like setting with no ventilation, while they expect you to clear a Tractor trailer in 2 hours. Managers complain the associates move too slow but rarely offers to contribute, all they seem to do is stand around on their phones while trying to give out orders.

Overnight employees get paid more to do less work and almost nobody cares what you do. they can literally throw things anywhere and get paid $10.35 an hour

    Advice to Management

Stop allowing these managers to let their little bit of power go to their heads
