I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The advancement opportunities are endless. If you work hard you can get promoted!

    Cons

Big work load with little help. It's doable but hard. Alot of people now a days don't realy want to do physical work and that just doesn't get shelves stocked.

    Advice to Management

Required split days off for all Managers is terrible! We in Fresh work very hard it's a mentally and physically demanding area. Most of us don't care about Saturday and Sundays off we just want 2 days off together every week. It would help us to get better rested and mentally prepared for another 5 days of retail.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay, good benefits. They work you to death, but you gain a lot of knowledge to take elsewhere

    Cons

Get to know your people! It’s always the good people that get the short end of the stick. The open door policy is a joke. It’s already premeditated what they will do to you. When you try to climb the corporate ladder you only can go so far.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your people. Don’t announce visits just pop up, so you can see what the associates actually really go through. It’s like the saying, putting lipstick on a pig. It’s true. Also if you are in upper management, store Managers market managers, don’t forget to speak to and acknowledge your people! It goes a long way! The moment you forget who helps put food on your family’s table, that’s when you lost! It might not be this second but eventually you will lose the battle.
