I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free food on holidays. 15 minute breaks every two hours (sometimes). Pays alright.

    Cons

Long hours or no hours. Lots of standing, bending, lifting. Management not really concerned for employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to our complaints. Give raises so we can drive to do better. Give us a steady schedule.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Quarterly Bonuses, Decent pay, No fear of the building closing

    Cons

Management most of the time has never worked in your position so they will make decisions that make 0 sense. Policy is their God, even if policy is not best for the specific situation

    Advice to Management

Use a divisional management structure. As an APA in Philadelphia I should not have the same policies as someone in the suburbs. My job was frequently violent and I knew that you (upper management) would fire me on the slightest deviation from your policy even if it meant that I was protecting myself or others.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Learn and keep up with modern cellular and communication technologies/devices. Meet and satisfy member of the community that require broad to specific requirements for their communication/technological needs.

    Cons

The scheduling is sparse, the hours are not guaranteed, there is NO overtime, and you are forced to 'fill-in' for the adjoining departments, thus dampening the efficiency of the work in one's own department. Sales, morale, and customer experience have plummeted due to these work philosophies.

    Advice to Management

Allow your employees to work in their own department. Work will get done and coverage would not be as much of an issue. Also, schedule departments evenly. That is to say, do not schedule everyone for the same or very similar shifts; split the shifts through the day for proper coverage.
