I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None? I can't say much regarding good things.

    Cons

Your mind is never at work. You are doing the same task over and over, which is mind numbing.

    Advice to Management

Just, I don't know. It's a retail store. It's where teenagers and adults with no future work.

    Pros

401k right away, Able to become Walmart shareholder.

    Cons

No vacation time until you put in TWO years worth of work. You are coached (penalized) for uncontrolled absences like illness or tardies if the weather prevents you from arriving on time. The management are like sharks. They look down n their employees.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to really take care of your employees in the front end.

    Advice to Management

Ask people what they like to do instead of just sticking them wherever you want

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

the option of transferring to other states/cities without losing your benefits.
It is a good first job for many young adults who attend college as you can select the hours/days you can work.

    Cons

Managements annual evaluation for pay increases needs to be changed.
Asst. Managers have not had any increase in base pay since 2008 and the bonus incentive is not reachable in the majority of the stores.

    Advice to Management

Stop selecting store manager who do not uphold the values/principles of Walmart. The assistant managers need to have better life/work balance. I spend 54 to 60 hours at work each week and it is making me want to look for another opportunity.
