    Pros

Can advance. Keep somewhat busy. Ability to cross train in other departments. Quartley bonus that varies. My first was only 30 dollars.

    Cons

Management doesn't get rid of bad employees. Managers have favorites. Low raises. Advancing is hard because when a position opens its like seagulls on a French fry.

    Advice to Management

keep doing what you are doing....it works.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Many people depended on me to keep the front end of the store running smoothly although the job was very stressful most days

    Cons

getting yelled at by customers, managers, and dissatisfied employees usually happened on a daily basis due to policies or lack of communication from the higher up managers

    Advice to Management

although customer service managers are towards the bottom of management, they still deserve to be treated with more respect than being yelled at in front of customers

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. The managers: they're great people and great at what they do, they're understanding and helpful. 2. When you get a crew like the one at 2202 the night runs so much smoother, so long as you know how to keep moving and walk as you talk. 3. The hours can be great if you can figure out how to make the right schedule and earn hours.

    Cons

    1. The pay isn't the greatest but it is alright and when you need a paycheck it works. 2. Daysiders and overnighters clash. 3. It can be germ central so you can get sick a lot. 4. Lack of proper insurance.

    Advice to Management

Just one thing: Fix the way the system runs from overnight to days so backrooms don't get screwed over.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is easy to advance within this company if you work hard. Walmart will cross train employees within the store and will also give out raises and bonuses.

    Cons

The schedule is not very flexible if you try to change your availability.

    Advice to Management

Things happen in life, so be more willing to change an employee's schedule if they are loyal and work hard.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They offer flexible scheduling in most positions and work with associate needs as a general rule. The offer good opportunity to advance for those interested. They offer a well connected inter-network of stores so associates can transfer as life changes occur.

    Cons

Since Wal-Mart is an entry level company for 90% of its positions, some lack of professionalism is present. Also, benefits are not given until a year of service and most associates are flagged as part time and therefore are ineligible for many of the benefits, even if they are offered almost 40 hours some weeks. Also, many of the positions do not allow you to get an increase in pay based on experience, even if it is experience with Wal-Mart.

    Advice to Management

Be fair and consistent with the enforcement of policy. Favoritism is found far too often.
