I worked at Walmart as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good brand on resume
    Work with big numbers
    Can really make an impact
    Executive exposure
Stay in a hotel for the summer

    Cons

Like any other company, sometimes internships are not very organized. Bentonville is more a family town. Not a place for single young grads for the long haul.

    Advice to Management

If you want good fresh blood who are also thinking about going to NYC or LA, make a greater effort with the city to liven the town up. Although people won't admitted it, the biggest reason people choose to not stay is that they feel trapped in Arkansas.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Close to home; A lot of interaction with customers

    Cons

Corporate changes policies all the time, severely affecting pay, hours, scheduling, and the ability to provide for a family

    Advice to Management

Take care of your associates, otherwise your associates will not want to come to work and you will not have the associates you need to help customers.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really liked the managers at Walmart. I worked as a Frozen/Dairy stocker with an overnight shift. Hours are almost 40 hours a week.

    Cons

The hours were not full-time, so there are no health-care benefits. Sometimes have to pick up after other workers if they slack off.

    Advice to Management

Do not be afraid to fire people if they are not performing. Make each employee responsible for their work each day.

    I worked at Walmart full-time

    Pros

    The whole experience sucked.

    Cons

Horrible working environment. It literally sucked the life out of me. Ridiculous job focus with antiquated equipment.

    Advice to Management

Burn the office to the ground and start fresh.

    Pros

None, poor company concerned only about itself.

    Cons

Poor employee relations, don't care about people at all. Just want taking their money.

    Advice to Management

    Care about people
