    Pros

As a cashier at walmart I enjoyed dealing with all different types of people thorughout the day. Also I would get switched around cashiering different departments so I didn't get bored

    Cons

AS with any job there can be more cons than pros but the only issue I had with Walmart was the military like "hurry up and wait". I was always waiting on a member of management to approve something that at times was definitely needed but usually not very important to wait that long for an approval over the palm pilot OS.

    Advice to Management

Take another look at the different things that need approval on the palm pilot for a customer to wait for a csm approval.

    Pros

Helping my customers with their activations and sometimes fixing their problems with their phone when I can.

    Cons

Not able to help with a lot of my customers needs because of management's decision to not do port requests.

    Advice to Management

Home office said to help with the customers needs for prepaid as well as postpaid, so let me help.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is better than most retail jobs. In certain positions you are guaranteed your hours. Advancement is always a possibility if you are willing to work for it.

    Cons

It is stressful, quotas are hard to keep up with and the hours are not family friendly. Time off is hard to get and the discount could be better.

    Advice to Management

Show a little more flexibility. If you want quality employees to stick around be more willing to work around other obligations such as military drills, deployments, sick kids etc.

  10. "This business is always first before employees and payroll is less than needed to keep expenses low to offset low sales."

    Pros

Very organized from a planning perspective.

    Cons

Managers expected to sacrifice personal life and those of others for the business. Employees are not held accountable; very low work ethic.

    Advice to Management

Lower sales expectations year over year as stores can not keep up with the same 3-4% sales increase. With that expectation, they get less payroll which they need to give great customer service to draw more customers in to increase sales.
