I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

short hours, no push for customer interactions, task focused. Operationally efficient.

    Cons

Management is completely untrained and clueless. Most associates are thrown into the position with little to no training. The job isn't hard, but they are harsh and rude when something is not done correctly by someone who was never trained. I was put in jewelry on my 2nd day (no register login, no register training, brief rundown on location of merchandise) totally in control of diamond and fine jewelry with ZERO training.
Managers will change your password "back to default" in order to sign in and change your schedule after it is posted. Extra hour(s) or days added/changed without letting you know in advance. Had to file HR complaint because I was being held accountable for hours/shifts that were added the day of.
Management holds meetings purely in Spanish and then fills those who don't speak the language in after on "what we need to know"
Numerous Department managers poorly trained and on a power trip. No one works together, there is constant rudeness and hostility (Especially from SM Adolpho and Mandee when they are upset) over the radio and in the back room. Constant eggshells.
Management fraternizes heavily with sales associates

    Advice to Management

Get it together. Train your people and respect them!

    Pros

    Only pro great trainer

    Cons

Poor management, poor CSM's Sault Sainte Marie is a small town, no room for advancement unless you have a big name in the community. Management ignores well qualified employees therefore they quit!

    Advice to Management

Stop the favoritism, the store is paying dearly for the choices being made. Upset employees big egos. Tone it down! Put the big names who cry in their place!
