I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is the world's largest retailer, and gains economies of scale from that position.and get transfers all usa

    Cons

They do not offer their employees a health care policy that is competitive with what other employers provide for their subordinates

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved my managers, some of my employees were friendly and their discount card helped out when I needed it the most.

    Cons

I hated how the employees were in everybody business they would talk about everybody and everything going on there. And I felt like some of the CSM wouldn't appreciate you .

    Advice to Management

You guys need to pay the cashiers more since we are the ones who see the customers last after they are done shopping we deal with the most.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fairly easy to get hired, and keep the job, you just have to show up, do whats expected and go home

    Cons

Minimum wage, understaffed and because they are understaffed you may get stuck in the position you're hired to despite promises that they promote from within. I've seen 3 new cashiers hired and an open spot for TLE I asked for sit unfilled while I continue to push carts (I have not been coached or written up)

    Advice to Management

More competitive wages for low on the totem pole positions will fill them and allow you to keep the promise of promoting from within, I think nationwide you may be doing this but in California where minimum wage is higher (because cost of living is too) you've opted to keep that. Hazard pay for cart associates may also be in order, I've had careless drivers nearly hit me despite the yellow vest, and had to clean up certain hazards in the parking lot.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

1 hour lunch, two 15 minute breaks, food was available to purchase for lunch & breaks.

    Cons

Management expects too much out of one employee for the amount of pay the issue.
politics, favoritism, night shift is a different world.

    Advice to Management

need to be retrained on how to treat the hard working employees who perform and complete there tasks.
also they need to promote from within there own store.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company matches 401k contributions up to 6%. They match stock contributions up to a point. Several benefits options. And, despite what you may hear, the people, management included, want you to succeed.

    Cons

Working with the public can be hard. 9 times out of 10 the problems arise from one customer putting an item on a wrong shelf, and another customer picks it up thinking it is this super low price.

    Advice to Management

Train your associates properly. Some realize that this is an at will job, but many believe that the open door system and coachings make them irreplaceable employees. They think they're invincible and nothing can stop them from working as little as possible.

    Pros

Stable job, room for advancement. If you always showed up on time and did your job, you wouldn't be worried about losing it.

    Cons

Other employees treated others as if it was High School over again! Giving you the dirty look and building cliques.
