I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You need no experience to work there, so it’s a great job to start out in or to do if you are retired and want to fill your day. It pays fairly good for the type of work.

    Cons

The major problem let that no one cares. From top to bottom no one puts effort into there day. Why should you? You won’t make any more money if you try harder, so you might as well slack of. They pay you based on levels, you could be employee of the month 12 months in a row but if you’re a level six you only make $15. Where as a poor performing employee that happens to be a level seven will make more. They did away with merit raise long ago. If you have any problem, don’t bother asking a manager for help because most of the time they just shrug their shoulders and tell you “deal with it “. The most frustrating part it equipment. It’s the digital age and most of your work revolves around a hand held device (mc40, tc70, tcx, Gemini) but you can never get one. There’s never enough to go around, so they are horded away. You’ll get a new from up above to do price changes and you say “ I can’t, I don’t have equipment.” Then you get a “ figure it out” response. It has a real communist vibe.

    Advice to Management

The company should promote associates who care and put in effort instead of people who can recite “one best way”. If your assistant managers have a don’t care attitude then it trickles down. Wallmart should incentivize hard work and loyalty, instead of breading a lazy don’t care attitude.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Photo hours used to be 8-5, 9-6 and a few 12-9.

    Cons

New Assistant manager does not care for Photo (personally said that) only cares about Pick up Today. Photo hours were cut to one associate 45 hours and they have to work 1 - 10 p.m. Photo closes at 8 p.m. on Sunday and 9 p.m. the other days. What do they expect you to do for the hour or two? You cannot leave your area per the Assistant manager. Why does a Photo Technician make less that a Pick up Today individual? You need to have talent and skills to be a Photo Technician.

    Advice to Management

Release the chains and let us out of prison. Why not schedule the Photo person 9-6 so the individual is there when Photo opens. Especially with the holidays coming. Pickup personal cannot do all the photos that a technician can.
