I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I manage my own time and my associates time. Very busy job, if you love fast phase job, this is for you.

    Cons

Upper management doesnt listen to their employee, hours gets cut all the time, NO SUPPORT IN MY DEPARTMENT WHEN SOMEONE CALLED IN IN MY TEAM NO ONE WOULD HELP AT ALL.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your Department managers! specially when they are really knowledgeable in their dept. MOST OF THE COMPANY'S REGULATION DOESNT MAKE SENSE SO ITS UP TO US TO DECIDE FOR OUR OWN STORE!

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They were good with giving me the hours and keeping the set schedule I wanted

    Cons

I was not able to grow because I was stuck working in the freezer also they don’t accommodate for you being sick unless you got sick pto

    Advice to Management

Accommodate for sick people even with no pto and make known who’s in charge were I have like 5 managers and not one can give me a set answer about anything

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible hours
    Worked with my school schedule
Can easily get promoted with hard work.

    Cons

CSM position didn't have a base pay, it was only $0.50 extra an hour! There were maintenance and cashiers that were paid more than the CSM's. I was not even trained as a CSM. I was just handed the palm pilot and was told I was the new back up CSM and that they would use me whenever they needed extra help (which was all the time). Although untrained, I was left the only CSM for a whole shift, and other department managers and ZMS where not helpful in sending reinforcements. The Management was horrible, didn't listen to any of the CSM's problems and complaints.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people, well a handful, the others mainly just care about them selves.

    Cons

Underpaid DMS and support managers and some of the actual work horses that keep the place afloat.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional you can be nice and respectful in the way you correct an associate. Some of you had secret buddy buddy systems and attempted to push out the deserving. Don't make fun of and or put down your associates some of them won't be disrespected.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most co-workers are easy to get along with.
Always things to keep you busy.
    Get to meet new people.
    Room for advancement.

    Cons

Some management really do not care about their associates.
Associates ideas and opinions do not matter.
When they have wrongfully reprimanded you, they are either very slow at making their wrong right or they just don't correct their wrong.
Some management are allowed to bully and talk down to their associates with no consequences instead it's the associate that faces the consequences.
The point system is terrible, can be incorrect.
All holiday time/pay is rolled into the pto.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates a little more. Actually care about them instead of pretending. The point system needs to be fixed.
