I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smart people, latest technology - I've worked here many years and Walmart really invests the time and money to stay current. You will learn a ton if you work here.

    Cons

Benefits changed this year to a mandatory curve so there's a very real chance that even if you perform well and meet your goals, you may not receive your bonus or RSUs. The targets you must meet are not defined and mainly have to do with extra credit, popularity or Indian nepotism. So only work here if you have negotiated a good base salary upfront.

    Advice to Management

With this new incentive downgrade the company pay for engineering will be below market rate for about 15% or more of the company. It pits team members against each other because if you do well then someone must necessarily fail and you'll probably know them. The only recourse is to leave the company which is a shame because up until now, it had been one of the better ones.

    Pros

Broad Exposure to multi-channel merchandising with some innovative high level leaders.

    Cons

Many Mid to Sr.Director, and VP level Officers are ineffectual and lack motivational leadership. They lead by fear and we are worked like dogs and need more resource.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates and make them feel valued!

    Pros

Walmart is a family which seeks to ensure that everyone has a place in it. You can find a job doing anything here and work with any type of person. Location matters whether Bentonville or San Francisco.

    Cons

Because of its massive size and inertia, the politics may become difficult and involved. Highly recommended that you seek a team and technology that suits your personality - innovative or stable.

    Advice to Management

Try to help all team members feel like part of the Walmart family. Do not be fooled by the razzle dazzle of tech charlatans. Get the ladder climbing empire builders who do not love Sam Walton out. Reclaim your original startup mojo!

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

at this time with all the changes, there are no pros to working here, accept that you collect a decent paycheck every two weeks.

    Cons

Leadership, nonexistent they spend their time on the East Coast (that's where they are from) at that company that supposedly Walmart purchased (jet.com) It feels more like they bought Walmart and are turning it into this chaotic startup!!! What once felt like home and family, now feels like your on a death march.

HR, what a joke. Disorganized, lacks leadership, clueless as too what there role in the company is..,.fyi, you're supposed to take care of you Associates/People!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking and acting so selfishly, think of the people who are helping and working hard to line your pockets!!! They deserve to be treated like humans. Maybe if you do that, you wouldn't be losing so many good people!!!
