I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great hours, always upwards of 30 per week. lots of walking between entrances.

    Cons

Understaffing is common. Checking receipts in a timely fashion sometimes means sacrificing quality for time.

    Advice to Management

make sure to keep 2 hosts at each entrance. I realize that may seem a tad excessive, as the job is really just a show-of-force kinda thing, but people still sneak through if there's a rush.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

get discount on everything but food. more benefits the longer you work there.

    Cons

sketchy titles (your are not solely to be a cashier unless you have medical conditions), will force you into harsh situations(not good for anyone who cannot handle difficult people), employees and CSM's can be super annoying but the customers are the worst.

    Advice to Management

communicate about your hiring positions better, if you hire someone who cannot be on the register and tells you, tell them that the position might require you to be on one at least. Don't state that they wont be on one if it is not true.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It has a very easy and consistent paycheck and if you stay long enough there are many opportunities for life benefits.

    Cons

Depending on your ability to be punctual you may be in good hands but if something comes up like a health issue where as you may need surgery Walmart has very little to no pity on you.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only reason I'm still here is because I need the money other wise I wouldn't be here. I would say the relationships you build with co workers can be nice you can make good friends. Discount is okay nothing exciting.(10%)

    Cons

However your reprimanded for even speaking to another conworker while on the job if u so much as work in the same aisle your reprimanded. Sad because in interview process they make you watch videos about team work. Managers are careless and stuck up once asked them to get Some one from the back to help me with a heavy lift and she responded no but u can do it your self . It ended up taking four men after my attempt to carry it . Btw this is my experience at Walmart Murphy canyon rd San Diego .

    Advice to Management

Try to be kind instead of using your power to treat employees like slaves and like we're worthless. Don't reprimand us for talking to one another when you stand around talking on your cell phones for good amounts of the day (almost all of them)
