I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay, looks good on a resume. Great way to learn your limits. Yearly bonuses based on store performance. Hourly employees bonus quarterly based on store performance.

    Cons

Lazy upper management. Lack of training. No matter how much you do it's never enough. You will miss out on seeing your family, and typically will be told what a horrible job you do, while the store manager doesn't know how to do the simplest of tasks.

    Advice to Management

Learn your job before you judge how everyone else does theirs.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for, fair wages, easy to pick up more hours if wanted and most of the staff are great!

    Cons

A couple of the CSMs lack in organization and people skills. Sometimes breaks are forgotten about unless you remind them.

    Advice to Management

A few of the Customer Service people, Cashiers and CSMs need to be trained and encouraged to treat others and speak to others with respect. AND SMILE MORE! There are a few who are always smiling and treat others well like Rebecca, Michelle, Alisa and Lorrie. They make it great to be there.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay strong benefits package

    Cons

The biggest downfall is balance. It is hard to balance a life ang work with the company. You either worked 11-8 or 8-5, mostly combination of the two during the same week so missed out on family alot

    Advice to Management

Set schedule standard on weekly basis

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Set hours, fairly generous time off programs if applicable, the people(when they wanted to work.)

    Cons

Expectations for the store I worked at were unmanageable with the staff that we had. Turn over was so high that it made menial tasks almost impossible to complete. Most upper management spent more time complaining then trying to help.

    Advice to Management

Step and and help instead of walking around with a clipboard being a boss. There is a time for that, and there is a time when you need to roll your sleeves up.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is decent along with a few friendly co-workers.

    Cons

Poor Working Environment. Either your the speedy ant they desire or you get tossed around.

    Advice to Management

Work with people faster if they have a change in availability. If a 6 week notice isn't enough then I don't know what i would do in the case of a real emergency.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fulltime, benefits credit card for business expenses

    Cons

hit and miss interview process, more willing to hire previous person than someone more qualified for the job. Night shift will only be as productive as management works them. Trying to create new policies to be more uniform with competitors but misunderstanding of how to achieve uniformity

    Advice to Management

Management has to be better starting with store managers and co-managers everyone has to pull weight not just dept and zone managers
