I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Pay was $9.00, but now it's bumped up to $10
-If you are good at being a bad employee, expect to be able to get away with a lot of stuff, I'd know because there were always bad apples ruining the whole work experience for everyone and no matter how many times I report them to management you'd be able to get away with anything if you weren't stealing company time.

    Cons

    -Management is pretty much terrible
    -Scheduling is never consistent
-If you are flexible, expect everyone to take advantage of you

    Advice to Management

-Learn to be human, you guys were Sales Associates and Cashiers like us, now you turn your backs on your peers and only look out for yourself

    Pros

Great benefits: 401K, Personal hours, Sick hours, Vacation hours, 10% discount on general merchandise. Hours are flexible, good work/family balance.

    Cons

Nepotism in human resources, management level. Lack of appreciation to long term employees, nobody's job is secure.

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate and value those who are loyal, dedicated, and hard working. Recognize the favoritism and take action against it.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There were free doughnuts on Fridays. The rest of this is for the 20 word minimum I think that will do..

    Cons

Managers were poorly trained from the top down in my store. Most times there were too many cooks in the kitchen as it were. The method of management was do this or your fired by default. As opposed to inspiring self worth.

    Advice to Management

Mind what you do, people are watching.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were flexible hours since I was going to school, there was good management, and most employees were very friendly.

    Cons

There are terrible customers to deal with and I couldn't get use to it.

    Advice to Management

Screen applicants better. Most can put on a pretty good front for the interview. But they are completely different on the floor.
