    No job loyalty; benefits are mediocre high deductibles ; workload demands are very difficult to ascertain with minimal help. Stressful environment.

    My pros are being the best manager i can be for the company I'm working for. Always making sure i customers and associates getting the they need though out the store weather it shopping or working. The way you carry yourself reflects on a lot of people if you know it our not.

    I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    -If you can get full time you're golden
    -Hard worker? You'll get overtime. Not consistent, unless you taking OT is more effective than having 3 other associates do the task on the next shift
    -A lot of training that can help you do your job and use to help you perform similar tasks and use similar equipment at other jobs
    -If your store does well in profit and customer friendly scores your quarterly bonuses will look good
    -Co-workers/Managers can be friendly
    -10% Discount Card on Most Non-Grocery items
    -Medical Benefits are okay
    -If the starting wage changes and you make under it you automatically get bumped up to the new starting wage when it takes effect (so if you're new and the starting wage raises a dollar above what you were hired at you effectively got a $1 raise)

    Cons

    -The more you jobs you are capable of doing the more they expect you to do in a day in and outside of the tasks of your position
    -Opportunities to advance differ from store to store, many play favoritism or try to only promote people who are already close to making the same pay as the starting pay for promotion
    -If you can do the tasks of a higher position you will be expected to do so for a loooooong time without the promotion
    -If your store plays favorites expect to be thrown a pity interview for a position once in a while as somebody is already guaranteed the position. Unless they tell you they want you for the position you don't have a chance at actually getting it unless the person they did tell that too screws up or suddenly declines.
    -Half to most of the management staff are Incompetent/Lazy
    -Same can be said of co-workers
    -The closer you are to the new starting wage the less you benefit from it, same goes for if you make above it unless you're in the higher paygrades
    -Ethics Hotline reports don't mean jack
    -Favoritism-based Promotions in most stores leads to lazy management of departments/zones, which screws with on-hands, orders, time management, etc.

    Advice to Management

    When you increase the starting wages, increase it for everyone by the same amount or give associates who were hired a year or more before the starting wages both the new starting wage and their normal annual evaluation. If it increases by $1 then everyone should be increased by $1 or increased to the starting wage and their annual review bonus.

    Ever changing environment! Plenty of work to do. Pay is not too bad after a few years.

    Cons

    Cut employee hours. Cannot expect full time hours even when you are signed on full time.

    Learn to establish consistency in routine tasks.

    Pros

    Pay is on par in the industry. Bonuses are usually pretty good. A lot of discounts available on Walmart one.

    Cons

    Corporate communication has become muddled and it ties the hands of the leaders in the stores. Job is constantly being threatened.

    Advice to Management

    Stop threatening peoples jobs. Stop managing the stores though fear and threats of termination.

    Pros

    Great Communication, Teamwork atmosphere, management often showed appreciation for the employee`s, I was challenged by management professional and personally, I was able to gain new colleagues.

    Cons

    Management tended to favor certain individuals over others. At times there would be a lack of enthusiasm from management, which set a mind set of discontented with the employee's.

    Advice to Management

    My advise would be to remain connected and passionate not only to your work but to the employee`s that look to you for your leadership.
