I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working with people; providing leadership. Providing customer service. Able to learn a lot about business operations through self teaching and digging into reports.

    Cons

Poor mgmt from market level into stores. Shift mgrs nit-pick and micromanage unnecessarily. MM has favorites and treats everyone else less than. Good ol boys/gals club for promotion and advancement. Evaluations not fair across the board with calibrations.

    Advice to Management

Stop putting your thumb on mgrs bc you know they're better than you and you don't want them to advance. Evaluate people fairly instead of based on who you like and who you don't. Lead by example instead of walking around with red bull and chips and on your cell phone. Stop being office jockeys and making everyone else slave.

    I worked at Walmart full-time

    Pros

Pay was fair when I left and their hours are reasonable. Plenty of opportunity to work and experience new and/or different positions within Health and Wellness division.

    Cons

Moral is on the decline and pharmacists are losing a sense of appreciation from company. Growing sense of attitude from Market Mgrs directed at pharmacist that they are replacable. Pharmacists no longer have a sense of job safety. New strict guidelines punish pharmacists with no questions asked termination for certain offenses with no warning or emphasis on these implemented changes:
