    Pros

None of the managers ever really watched you so you were free to do whatever and take care of business
Mostly the people. We were all in this hell hole together! They made coming to work not so bad

    Cons

    Poor management
-poor communication: everything wrong with this store led back to the bad communication between managers. You were sent all over the store instead your own department to do various tasks. Often times another manager would come along and tell you to go do something else. so you respond with "[insert manager name here] told me to work on this" the answer? "well i'm here now and i'm telling you to do this!" and so started a never ending cycle.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great training and management. Good place to gain initial job experience or to work as a productive senior. Three month trial period. Management opportunities available. Excellent on compliance and positive company culture at this store (3390). Upper level management concerned about minimizing store risks and educating valuable employees.

    Cons

Pay may be low unless you bring recent experiences (showing higher pay in a specialized field) and great references to the table. Company does not value education...only experience. Only compliance positions appear to be at corporate HQ.

    Advice to Management

Excellent progress coming into compliance with statutes and regulatory agencies. Also very impressive social responsibility in working with local and state organizations. Flex work-life balance was good to very good. Nice store upgrade/renovation on this and surrounding stores as well as backup systems. Would like to see compensation raises across the board as minimum wage is nearly impossible to live on...even with a spouse or roommate who shares the rent. Suggest working with HHS and nearby new apartments where potential new employees could ride bicycles to work. Youth may be able to save for a down-payment on a reliable used car and eventually make local trade school arrangements in order to fully transition into the workforce.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent for a college student. In the Meat Department you can get a good workout. Management is very accommodating if you choose to change departments.

    Cons

The managers really don't care to help with anything. They are difficult to deal with when it comes to scheduling. Also, people seem to get fired left and right.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked o/n. Great starting job! hrs usually start you out 11:30pm-7am, full time 10:00pm-7am. 2010 it was $8.75 ($7.50 +$1.25 for o/n). After about 6 months of doing Stocking and ICS I finally got the actual "ICS position title" where I was given full time and a .20 raise. :) If you're not in shape before you will be afterward, unless you really don't do anything in which case u get what u give..

    Cons

Bad hours, little room for advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

More friendly interaction with your employees never hurt anyone.
