    Pros

The other people that you work with are generally very kind.

    Cons

They don't give you your hours until beginning of the work week, very ow pay, you have to work holidays, training is non-existent and many times the customers are rude or even aggressive.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was Management... Good training and knowledge , good team support while training ...

    Cons

They have a high turn-over rate for employees..... work you into oblivion, then when you nearly collapse...... and then you are coached, pre-empt to firings... low pay for high expectations.. I Quit... after 11 yrs of Management position..

    Advice to Management

stop . listen, advise and empower all of your associates from CORP all the way down to customer greeter. Its not always about the MONEY... get it fixed , or close down...

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good 6 week off site training. Benefits are decent

    Cons

No Life Almost like a cult. You will never leave on time. 10 hours becomes 12-13 everyday. You will do everything the co-managers don't want to do. They get office time, you don't. Good luck planning your day.

    Advice to Management

Monitor the turnover and find out the real reason people are leaving. It's not just pay. Start at how people are spoken to. Too many conflicting requests by management.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the one thing I liked about it, is I was lucky to be working with mostly a pleasant bunch of coworkers.

    Cons

EVERYTHING! From the Managers to the Hours... According to the 1 of the night managers, i was let go because i wasn't working HARD ENOUGH... meanwhile he never EVER saw me work a single night... all the other night managers raved about my work ethic and mannerisms. I told him to bring the other managers in and we'll see how they really felt and he wouldn't.. just kept mumbling,,, since the first time he just saw me, he wanted to fire me and even my coworkers told me the same.. Then AFTER i was fired the manager said i was fired for stealing (GAMES I WAS RE-SHELVING)!, oh and also another reason was i was smoking in the store,, I DON'T SMOKE)! and lastly that I was sleeping during work... (ON MY LUNCH)!,, Definitely felt like suing because i had convincing proof of mistreatment but i just want to be rid of the nuisances in my life... Oh and not to mention the particular store is known for firing "temp" employees right before their 90 days is up just to avoid paying them and giving benefits,,, OVERALL-PATHETIC.

    Advice to Management

Next time before you fire an employee, how about you check to see if what was said was even true? which it turned out WASN'T ... STOP TAKING OUT YOUR FRUSTRATION WITH CORPORATE ON STORE LEVEL WORKERS.

    Pros

Good pay (for a cashier) and co-workers.
Good place to work while still in school.
Study the the different branches, not all are equal to shop at, or work for. I worked at a good branch, but a few miles away was a branch people skipped over to get to ours.

    Cons

Demanding customers, standing all shift, average retail worker complaints
Can be under staffed (5-6 people doing work better suited to 10 or more, especially closing shift)
seem to like scheduling employees to work closing (on shift till 10:30pm or 11pm) followed by opening (on shift starting at 7am)

    Advice to Management

Let the store managers have a bit more freedom about employee relations. Don't drive off good employees who need a bit of flexibility with corporate policies that are too rigid.
