I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The management is great at listening to employees.

    Cons

I don't feel like I can do anything to confront thieves. They just walk out the door.

Occasionally I find a co-worker who can't or won't do their share of the workload.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes employees are left out of the loop about changes. Also it helps if both SCO hosts have a radio so they can communicate across a busy front end.

    Pros

Good salary, good benefits, company stock plan

    Cons

Lengthy shifts 12-13 hour days and had to rotate to overnight shift every 6 months..

    Advice to Management

even if you were short handed because 2-3 call ins you were still expected to get the same amount of work done in the same amount of time.

Crazy people come in all the time, and the managers all tell you to do things differently. Few hours. Be ready to stock all hours of the day.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pays on time every time. Steady work. pay starts four dollars above minimum wage.

    Cons

Not an ethical work place. Cannot report in store management without the management in question being informed. Unrealistic expectations of lower management. Puts you last, as an employee.

    Advice to Management

Put your associates first. Make schedules that actually tend to the needs of the store. don't blame those below for your shortcomings.

Care about your employees and customers, not just profit margins.
