I have been working at Walmart

    Pros

I get to learn every department and each departments safety rules. The position allows me to have variety in the work environment.

    Cons

The cons to working in every department is the issue of completing safety tasks and assuring OSHA guidelines are followed completely. As an asset protection associate I prefer being thorough in my position. Proper documentation of paper work, and safety zones is essential yo the company.

    Advice to Management

Asset protection is a very important position to the company; as well as others. So everybody has a part to play in the Walmart family. There shouldn't be any employee who feels that proper procedure isn't there job. When there's something wrong...you get with that department manager and fix it.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than a year

    Pros

You meet great people and your check is nice. You get bonuses based on your points every quarter.

    Cons

Managers or few coworkers make work life hell and the point system is only 5. Doesn't take dr excuses and they will look over you for promotions even if you're very experienced

I worked at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It'll keep you busy during the day

    Cons

Terrible management, absolutely zero leadship experience, lack of morale, lack of consistency.

    Advice to Management

Train your management and supervisory staff on how to properly lead. Teach your management that they need to work as well instead of yelling at people and not doing anything.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay Check A break every 2 hours

    Cons

On your feet all day. Understaffed. Nasty customers. Cursed and called a racist. HOT! No air circulation at the doors. Rude customers and employees. Little to no training Shifts could be from 6 am until midnight. Often you will work till 10pm or 11pm and have to be right back in at 6am.

    Advice to Management

All us to where shorts. In the summer the temps at the doors are in the mid 90’s. Come up with a better method for stopping shoplifting. Accusing every customer of stealing is not the answer. Stop scheduling people to close then open.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Generous flexibility, co-workers are generally easy-going and fun to talk to. Shoppers only ask for help when they are in fact lost, so you must help them. Keeping up is hardly a chore when they are very specific as to what you must do.

    Cons

Management may not be fully aware of the situations on the sales floor and are not readily available. Labels and prices may be subject to change while you are stocking a shelf, so you might have to change an entire product out.

    Advice to Management

Keep talking with your employees, they want to know what it takes to do better and want to help your store do better with suggestions and advice.
