I have been working at Walmart for more than a year

    Pros

Great if you don't mind working a lot.

    Cons

They do not stick to Walmart best. They have people in freshness side that has where they can't work all the hours that we are supposed to there's too many of them that have where they have to be off by 5. Which leaves one person to cover the night shift every night. Which I would have been reading if you work on fresh as you're not supposed to have anyone that cannot work all hours. But they are allowing yet

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

If your going to school getting days off is very easy. If you want to work part time it's very easy to do so. Quarterly bonus. Lot's of chance for promotion.

    Cons

Company is not what it was when I started in 2006. At that time I would of said working even hourly at Walmart was good. I work their now and got good raises over the years. Was getting ahead of mnimim wage fairy well. However at this point it's bad. No longer can I get a .50 or .60 cent raise based on my eval. Raises are simply 2%. That's it. Full time used to mean 40 hours a week. Maybe get cut 4 or 5 hours a year after...

    Advice to Management

Re invest in labor and pay. Give people a reason to stay. Your pushing out your best at the hourly level. Some people want to move up and be managers. But many don't. You need that strong backbone of knowledgeable labor. Your losing it. Your losing the will to care. Every year I see more and more customers walk out of the store do to a lack of bodies. This company is going to be bankrupt in the next 20 years if it can't...

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

You can sometimes work with great people.

    Cons

Management and supervisors don't know how to run a store. In the month of January 2019, I work 3 days out of the whole month and there's no room to put me in. They do not care about their minors.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about all your employees. Give everyone a fair amount of hours. Run a better store so that your own employees wouldn't rather shop at Safeway.

Former Employee - Cap II Associate in Poulsbo, WA

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Only non management position that is able to get 40 hrs plus overtime was given to those willing to put the work in. Learned many transferable skills.

    Cons

The amount of work they expect you to do in the time given is unrealistic especially if you do it "one best way". Serious disconnect between upper managements ideas of how things should be done and actual practical application of those principals.
