I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Associates are paid well for the tasks they are asked to perform.
Advancement opportunities exist for associates who are willing to work.
Benefits are offered to part-time associates.

    Cons

Full-time positions are only given to those in management positions.
Occasionally positions are given based on favoritism rather than qualifications and job performance or status.

    Cons

none that i can think of

    I worked at Walmart part-time

    Pros

I loved working here. The staff is great, the management is great, and I enjoyed the work.

    Cons

It can be boring at times, but i guess that's true with alot of jobs.

    Advice to Management

I would like more relevant training, because the training I received had useless and sometimes wrong information.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Variety of positions to move around to. Good people to work with and develop customer service skills.

    Cons

Challenging schedules that change every day and every week. Raises are very low and not based on performance. Everyone gets the same raise and bonus unless your management.

    Advice to Management

Provide more mentoring for ways to become manager

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was left to myself, and able to focus on my work.

    Cons

There was conflicting information on how I was supposed to perform my job.

    Advice to Management

They should provide more relevant training to their employees. Much of the training was unused or just wrong.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

As an assistant manager the starting pay is great, $48,500 starting out. Get a ton of PTO days and the overall MIP gives the chance to earn around $54,000 starting out.

    Cons

They work you to death! Have been scheduled to work 50 hours and been required to go to 80+ hours. Too much inconsistency from higher ups in what the expectations are.

    Advice to Management

Consistency in direction of company expectations and more open lines of communication. The company policy that salary management has to be in their current store for 18 months to be transfer eligible is ludicrous.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay at Walmart is decent if you are just starting out. The hours were nice as well as working 9 hour shifts so you always got 8 hours and an hour lunch

    Cons

Upper management is very strict. They will not work around your schedule such as school or anything. You must be available 7 days week

    Advice to Management

Work with people I loved my time there but I'm in college and need a more routine schedule

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

40 hour schedule (if you are a setup associate or working for the store during the remodel process). It's easy to get hired here.

    Cons

You get paid in pennies to work like a dog, poor management, you are treated like just a number, no insurance even though you're working full-time hours.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at how Costco is treating their employees
