I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly coworkers for the most part, gave a lot of hours with many opportunities to get even more hours, flexible.

    Cons

Sometimes the store could get very busy with not enough employees. May put you out alone before you're fully ready due to this.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The biggest pro is the people you meet working there. You can create such amazing friendships with your coworkers, they are hands down the best part of working there.

    Cons

the cons are everything else such as dealing with such horrible customers on a daily basis. People who treat you like dirt and yell at you things you have little to no control over

    Advice to Management

The customer isn't always right and its annoying when we follow store policy only to have you not back us up when the customer complains.

The people you work with and the 10% employee discount.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you start as a salaried manager can be a decent job company has alot of customers.

    Cons

even with a masters degree unless you start as a salaried member of management it is nearly impossible to make more than 25000 a year. Every year the company reduces more benefits from employees. Starting wages continue to drop and raises have become less and more scattered. Walmart has chosen to close a store that became unionized rather than give employees the benefits of a union. There management system has been made by their corporate office and will not except any comments or corrections. They will go as far as performing illegal actions to get rid of an employee if they cost the company money such as disability workman compensation etc..

    Advice to Management

Notice before Sam Walton died the company made much more had happy employees and better security. Instead of cutting every dollar through any means understand happy employees make a good company and help stop loss due to better security. Take care of your employees they might seem disposable but if they are treated as such they will make the company become disposable. If you think I'm wrong just look at all the class action lawsuits walmart has.
