I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of learning and development no matter what position with the company. Decent salaries if you know how to negotiate.

    Cons

Every 18 months or so there are layoffs, and after awhile this makes a lot of people not trust the company. Because the company has a big name, tends to attract lots of big egos in management positions, which results in not very good management in some parts of the company.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits, Car, Gas, Phone etc. That's about it.

    Cons

Don't have all day to elaborate on this. Your actual work hours is every day and phones won't stop ringing unless if you turn off your phone. Company email communication is overloaded. Lot more.... Corporate Politics. Promotions are not coming on the what you know basis. It is always on the Who you know basis. If you want to get ahead, get ready for butt kissing and make allies in high places otherwise you won't get ahead after a certain level. Assistant Manager level is the stop. After that, get some allies or you will stay there.

    Pros

Walmart truly wants to do the right thing and live its mission to help people live better.

    Cons

While there are some visionaries in the company the rank and file leadership frequently exhibits a mentality of preserving their security which holds back the company and promising employees.
