I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Walmart Technology has great leadership, culture, and the resources to enhance your skills/experience in the field of technology.

    Cons

The business and technology are located in separate facilities, so meeting with business stakeholders requires frequent traveling from one campus facility to another or using conference call tools. These conditions are in the process of changing.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

fast paced, friendly, and understanding atmosphere (outside of ISD)

    Cons

hold grudges, spread too thin so unable to concentrate or fully focus on one project or item

    Advice to Management

take the 3 breaks that you are suppose to receive..too many go without that break which can make or break another's day and better adjust the attitudes there.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - Tons of job opportunities - Exposure to and endless amount of people to network with

    Cons

    - No longer a family environment - There is always a fear of job loss, regardless of performance

    Advice to Management

    - Massive layoffs is wrong. - Realign people were you can, give them a chance to keep their life going. Sam would have not approved of all the damage you all have done to people's lifes the past 4-5 years. - Your pay and rewards are not as good as you think, there are companies out there willing to pay more and have people work less to keep the talent... learn from that.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great opportunities, great pay and benefits, corporate culture and commitment to diversity and inclusion

    Cons

There is tremendous pressure to cut costs, so there is no budget to attend conferences or gain valuable training. Not enough resources and unattainable amount of work is assigned makes employees feel under valued and expendable

    Advice to Management

Stop the continual layoffs as people are consistently worried whether or not they will have a job each day they come into work. It puts employees in undo stress which leads to low engagement.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

PTO -31 days 6-9yr associates 6% 401k match Work flexibility. Tech focuses on getting job done not where you are (depends on area)

    Cons

4 Tech leaders all leading differently. Some areas bonus/stock impacted by evaluations while other areas are not. Some expect Project managers be technical while others dont. Too many mixed messages. Walmart culture dying with so many outside hires in leadership. What 10 foot rule? Kick off meeting with cheer...why? Diversity of Tech leaders. AA leadership pool down drastically. Bentonville is already a... culture adjustment for most all AA new hires, not having AA leaders in a building with over 2k is concerning

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pay is reasonable based on experience for NWA area. Base pay as a Project Manager II is 92K and with last year’s bonus of 18K put me at 110K. So the money is right compared to other companies in the area. There are highly talented individuals and an opportunity to build your knowledge base.

    Cons

The Walmart culture has diminished to a cut throat, highly political environment that no longer respects the individual. The Open Door Policy is disgraceful and will get you on the path to termination. Too many organizational changes with entire departments eliminated. Poor direction from leadership, having a direct impact on evaluations. Political in who not what you know. Be very cautious around Millennials!!... Walmart is on the path of lowering the age of its workforce. Not a good place to work if you’re over 50

    Advice to Management

Stop kicking long term associates to the curb in order to hire the 2 Millennials after terminating the senior associate. Walmart is/has and continues to be, a low rated organization to work for. Create an environment of collaboration in lieu of one of political strife. Look at the list of tenured individuals fired, harassed and those you’ve retaliated against and ask your self WHY! Management is out of control
