It's a temp job if you really need money.

    Cons

I worked at Walmart (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay rate is above average; Paid time off; voluntary time off, deferred holidays, good health insurance; lots of supervisory support

    Cons

I can't think of too many cons, except that you are expected to work on holidays, or pull extra long hours during peak seasons or weather emergencies (i.e. hurricanes, floods)

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding of personal family emergencies (hospitalizations, deaths, sickness, etc.); build up your employees with encouragement and not break them down with harsh criticism

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you live in the Northwest Arkansas area you have a lot of different career paths you can pursue within Walmart.
Advancement and promotion potential are definitely there if you have a solid work ethic and do not require someone to hold your hand through every task you are given.
Yearly bonuses and stocks are a big plus.

    Cons

As with any retailer, the peak seasons can be a huge grind.
The company is currently streamlining and cutting costs wherever possible so some departments may feel some job insecurity.

    Advice to Management

Any process that is explained by 'That's the way we have always done it," is probably due for an update.
