I have been working at Walt Disney Animation Studios full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I know my work will be seen by millions of people. Taken as a whole, I think we make people happier through our work.

    Cons

Like many big companies, it's easy to get pigeon holed. Sometimes middle management can be very set in their ways.

    Advice to Management

There is a lot of innovative, hyper motivated people with a lot of great ideas that are burning out without the opportunity to contribute their ideas. The company needs more churn and diverse mentorship opportunities.

Get to work on Disney animated movies! Super high bar in terms of technical advances and the level of creativity in every project, never settle for less than the best quality. Artists are well supported and it's generally a very positive atmosphere.

    Cons

Can be very competitive within departments, lots of overtime and stress.

I have been working at Walt Disney Animation Studios (More than a year)

    Pros

People and perks, it was the best working experience I've ever had.

    Cons

Long hours during crunch, but that's to be expected at any animation studio. Pay is on the lower end and promotions are based on office politics.

I have been working at Walt Disney Animation Studios full-time

    Pros

The level of artistry is off the hook here. Working with the artists can't help but up your game.

    Cons

Depending on your position, the "work-life balance" policy can be hit or miss. Some positions get great perks, while others work 6 or even 7 day weeks for months at a time. Also, middle management has gotten over-inflated in size and sense of importance.

    Pros

Tremendous people terrific place to work, they want you to be creative.

    Cons

Some time I had to wait an extra 5 minutes for handmade pizza in the commissary. I didn't live in Glendale so a bit of a drive, but worth it.

    Advice to Management

Keep long time employees. They bring a lot to the table.
