I have been working at Walt Disney Company (More than a year)

    Pros

    Amazing work environment
    Supportive team
    Surrounded by smart people
    Proactive attitude
Lots of chances to learn and network
    Insanely collaborative

    Cons

    Understaffed
Promotions based on seniority rather than performance
Fear of the changing landscape and the difficulties of adapting

    Advice to Management

Reward employees for good work instead of focusing on loyalty to attract millennials. They lose a lot of good talent because don't get promoted or raises, so they job hop. Adds a lot of stress to the environment since high turnover means people constantly not knowing what they're doing!

Despite all this, I still love my job and dread having to leave in order to advance my career.

I worked at Walt Disney Company as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

High social environment, teams work closely together and communicate regularly

    Cons

Very difficult to find a recruiter, to receive a response back vs that of an automated response

    Advice to Management

Recruitment team should be the Ambassadors of the organization but if they are difficult to find to help promote the brand--some of the best candidates may seek opportunities elsewhere.

I worked at Walt Disney Company as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great way to get your foot in the door, gain experience from a Fortune 500 company, and get noticed from other employers.

    Cons

Not a guarantee you'll be hired. Perks (i.e. park admission) but no benefits.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear about the progression of employment for interns. It's a great opportunity to get experience from a very well known company but doesn't mean you're going to be hired there. People often come back after they leave.
