    Pros

Shuttle to take you to offsite Disney locations for work
Van Pool if you can get it.

    Cons

Two people sharing a small cube with noisy phone meetings all day.
Extremely stressful work environment with no quiet space to get work done
Overworked employees in my office, and several others around.
Micromanagement of work adding to stress.
No overtime allowed even though workload was unreasonably high.
Not a single perk except slightly discounted merchandise at stores.
Not allowed to visit Disneyland even though we did work there several times.
There are no discount tickets for staff to Disneyland. Hard to believe.
No covered parking even in hot sun.
Movie discounts are better at Costco for their own employees.

    Advice to Management

Do not micromanage staff. If you hire someone for their skills, don't do their work.
Stress level is very high among employees.
Give your staff some free tickets to Disneyland. They have earned it.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Typically your coworkers are great people. Everyone is usually very excited to be working for the company. There is a great feeling of team work.

    Cons

The politics within the business groups tends to hamper the work the staff is trying to do. Management at the corporate level does not appear to be interested in balancing the desire to increase profits with the needs of the people doing the work. Staff is seen and treated as a resource to be quickly discarded when it helps the bottom line of the company.

    Advice to Management

Try to actually live up to the image that Disney is putting out to the world. You need to understand that the people you are so quietly laying off have families that they need to support. Don't continue to let the company become a large corporation that cares nothing for the people that are the face of Disney.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you are hired from outside the company you will be paid what you are worth. Great options for health benefits & 401k opportunities. If you like Disney you will enjoy the comp pass & silver pass perks.

    Cons

If you start with WDW a young age/right out of college you are financially punished for your loyalty of only working at WDW -numerous managers will tell you to leave WDW and come back after you have worked somewhere else a couple years. One manager who had been at WDW 7 yrs longer than me made $26k less than me for the same job because she worked at WDW since graduating college. If you have a salary sales job, most managers expect you to check your work email 24/7 and be available for any client/cast member work call 24/7. WDW is so large there is no one to hold directors/managers accountable for hiring practices, i.e. hiring their best friends or reorging their dept to bring in their friends -or favoring a few specific clients who are their personal friends. No one says or reports anything because everyone knows if you do they will get rid of you. I saw it happen numerous times.

    Advice to Management

Nothing will ever change. The entire time I was there - middle & upper management always fooled the highest execs to how things really were with their cast members/in their depts. Cast member knew and still know better than to speak up because you would lose your job or your manager and/director would make the cast members life (both hourly & salary) so miserable they would quit. Salary cast members would even joke among themselves when they would watch clients go through WDW best practice classes how it was such a shame that we don't actually practice anything what we teach in any of those classes but pretend we do. It's a shame -the company is all about family to the guest except when it comes to its cast members.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Intern housing is somewhat close to the parks if you have a car, free Parks tickets, discounts to local restaurants, meeting new people

    Cons

Terrible management, bad training program, working awful hours all over the clock, did not get enough hours in a 5 hour work week to save money or eat well, many nights I would leave work at 1:30 then have to be back at 9:30 in the morning, many full-time workers are often rude to College Programmers

    Advice to Management

They need to hire better managers who actually appreciate the Disney Company and want to see the Cast Members (especially Interns) succeed in their program

    Advice to Management

Be aware of employees rest times..that's very important, its the law and its humane!
