I have been working at Warn Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent Benefits and discounts on Warn products

    Cons

Bad management, non-competitive pay, Very low and infrequent raises. Blatant favoritism. Poor organization and very outdated equipment. Lots of inappropriate comments and harassment from other employees.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time actually doing your job as a manager, be competitive in pay and the work and quality will improve. Good benefits and perks can only go so far if a person doesnt make enough to live on.

I worked at Warn Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Has many talented and experienced employee's. Opportunities and future looked bright for a new line of products for a major automobile OEM.

    Cons

Since Mike Warn has sold this family owned company - the parent company has corporatized the family culture and placed it's own employee's (corporate takeover) into management of Warn.

Pay for assemblers and machinists is well below the average - thus continuously losing talent and unable to fill critical voids such as maintenance to keep their machines running. It's a constant fire-fight mode.

This recent layoff to "restructure" came without any indication and the treatment was dragging you into an HR room and handing you your walking papers. No goodbye's - No obtaining your personal property - And an extremely small severance only if you sign papers that you will not sue them.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Dover's puppets and obtain some real managers.

I have been working at Warn Industries full-time

    Pros

Fair insurance for family, great time off
    Hours are good

    Cons

Double standard for men and women, Mike Warn
Sold the company, all new management all about the money for Dover, less caring for long time employees, pay for new employees higher than long-term employees

    Advice to Management

Make a payment schedule for employees so they do not take 25 years to reach their top pay with 30 cent raises

I have been working at Warn Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Warn has an amazing culture that fills itself with people who love using their products. The work schedule is flexible and they understand that there is life outside of work.

    Cons

Warn has gone public and now finds itself held to metrics that often hinder innovation. Furthermore, management believes that the culture is a perfect substitute for pay. Management maintains that they survey local companies to stay competitive with compensation, yet when people leave (which is often lately) it is always due to pay and never for less than a 20% pay increase.

    Advice to Management

Making financial metrics to obtain your bonus is not in the best interest of Warn in the long run. If you are tired of losing all of your talent, you will have to compensate them fairly.
