I worked at Warnaco Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good compensation. Great people in the ranks.Met some great people who have become good friends.

    Cons

Executive management and their HR cronies! What a joke! The CEO thinks she’s a role model and has no clue about what the rank and file really think. We've watched her push great people out and fill exec ranks with her cronies and others of little substance and no vision. The product and quality got weaker and weaker as process and margin became king so she could sell out.. Day-to-day business was crashing but new business (countries) and off price masked the realities

    Advice to Management

You got the last laugh and walked away with the big money but hopefully people will know the truth and you won't be able to repeat this performance. iUnder new leadership we WILL clean this up.

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons.

I have been working at Warnaco Group full-time

    Pros

Good Pay, 2 free personal days

    Cons

Only 1/8th the office actually works a 40hr work week.

    Advice to Management

Rather an idea to ponder: Why would a company president be promoted after having completely ignored and allowed one of the two brands he was responsible for to fail?

I have been working at Warnaco Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Local management strives to build into the local associates. They voice the local concerns to the corporate partners even when it seems to fall on deaf ears. Local associates are provided many small things such as luncheons and various award programs.

    Cons

Local headcounts are so tight that it leaves no room growing outside of the current position. Although growth is encouraged verbally, time constraints leave little time for the activities that will lead to the growth.

Get training on better management skills.

I worked at Warnaco Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Getting a huge employee discount on Warnaco's brands, loading up my wardrobe with many giveaway sample items, excellent health benefits, good holidays and vacations, good 401(k) plan, decent profit sharing. It also has a somewhat relaxed, creative and open culture.

    Cons

Limited growth in some areas, like IT, especially depending on your location. Fairly high staff turnover (although I don't know if it's unusual for that industry.) Raises and promotions are minimal unless you are already higher up.

    Pros

Corporate atmosphere was friendly and supportive. Everyone is willing to educate employees to make their experience and job position fulfilling and well-rounded. Learned a great deal about the retail industry as well as financial planning.

    Cons

Mediocre pay and long hours lead to burned out employees who ended up walking around the office multiple times a day.

    Advice to Management

Senior management could benefit from some seminars on how to work with employees. Praise seldoms comes after hard work and it seems some employees receive preferential treatment in regards to bonuses and position advancement.

fast paced environment - get to learn alot in a short amount of time.
    benefits are great

    Cons

Work are not well orchestrated and priortized and tend to work on it when there is a fire to put out.
React to an issue instead of solving and mitigating the issue.
    long hours of work.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employee and provide more guidance.

    Pros

Good benefits. Summer half day Friday's are great

    Cons

Typical large corporate environment. Its not about doing a good job. its about making sure the right people hear about that good job your doing. Work environment was much friendlier when there were 400 employees. The 120 left are under too much pressure and only concerned about keeping their jobs.
Annual performance reviews are a joke and huge timewaister for everyone involved.
No room for advancement. Other than managers and executives who there are much to much of, most regular employess have given up hope that anything will change and are just going through the motions.

    Advice to Management

Scrap the present annual review system. It doesnt work, and just creates unecessary stress.
Stop buying doughnuts for your group. Making them fat doesnt make them happy.
Be honest wtih your groups, dont promise what cant be delivered.

amazing internship experience with lots of workshops to further learning and helpful reviews.

    Cons

i stared at a computer screen all day. upper management tends to give insufficient guidance.

    Advice to Management

tell your employees what you want from them, don't just expect perfection when offering minimal guidance.
