I have been working at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Well-known company, walking distance to studio lot, large parties, fun content to work on if you like pop culture, like-minded colleagues that are a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Career advancement was tough, since traditional disc-based Home Entertainment was on its way out. Their digital initiative was poorly executed, contributing to nearly the entire Home Entertainment wing to fold. Worked until 2AM for three weeks straight a few times a year.

    Advice to Management

Swallow your pride and don't reinvent the wheel. Get some good product managers.

I worked at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some really amazing, super hard working people at WB, The foundation is strong. Most Managers and below are salt of the earth and the Admin and clerical staff are the best in the biz. They really keep everything running smooth. Legal, Op's and Finance departments are full of insanely talented people who will drop everything to help with marketing needs.

    Cons

Too many people drinking the Kool-aid. It's difficult to go to meetings about having meetings where you will probably plan another meeting. Too many cooks in the kitchen? That's an understatement. but one of the biggest problems is a lot of the hardest working people are contractors who are not hired to be full-time therefore they do not receive the benefits of being perm. Permanent positions ARE budgeted for and yet there is ALWAYS a claim of "hiring freezes". It's sad to see a person give 3+ years of time and not have sick days or 401k. Actually, it's pretty indicative of the respect or lack there of HR and Senior management has for people in Administrative and Clerical roles as well as any position under Director.

    Advice to Management

Realize that the people in the lowest of positions are probably the most connected to your consumer base and their opinions and ideas matter.
