I have been working at Warner Bros. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is always something exciting happening on the lot productions, private events, employee events, and more.

    Cons

The culture on the lot is very split. There are "have" departments and "have not" departments. It is difficult to work for a company where your paycheck AND your social status at work make you feel like you are less than. It also doesn't help that most major layoffs happen around Christmas.

    Advice to Management

Invest in human capital. People at the bottom, who are working the hardest for the least compensation, don't feel valued. Long time employees talk of the "good old days" and don't feel hopeful about the corporate-heavy direction the company is going in.

I worked at Warner Bros. as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large company, you can get lost

    Cons

Lots of politics, can get tiresome

    Advice to Management

Hire more leaders who care about the development of their teams.

I have been working at Warner Bros. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The "WB Family" mentality makes for a positive environment where everyone is included.
Best coworkers I've ever had, and you cannot beat working on a movie studio lot.
HR/OD works hard to be innovative and forward thinking.

    Cons

Moving around in the company is extremely difficult.
The 'family' mentality, while great, also makes it VERY time consuming to obtain upward growth, as everyone wants to put their two cents in on every decision.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard working, ambitious employees appropriately.

I have been working at Warner Bros. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance, polite co-workers, working on the lot is nice, decent benefits, you get to preview new movies before they are released.

    Cons

From a technology point of view Warner Bros lags far behind other companies. A silo mentality runs rampant through the company. Upper management is extremely resistant to new ideas or changes of any kind. Department by department employees are let go & replaced by independent contractors.

    Advice to Management

Just because you've been doing something the same way for 25 years, doesn't mean there isn't a better way of doing it. Be open to exploring new ideas.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    Large entertainment company.

Stellar group of employees who know what they're doing.

Technological leader in content delivery and security.

    Great benefits.

Fun to be part of a working Hollywood lot.

    Cons

Kevin Tsujihara is running the company into the ground. Laying off employees left and right while using the "savings" to make crap content like Man of Steel and Pan and Batman v Superman (how can you ruin something like that?!) and Legend of Tarzan.

The management culture is very nepotistic, be prepared to be passed over for promotions if you are not one of the family/favorites (qualified or not). Preferential treatment is given to those who are in the "inner circle" vs those who work hard and do their jobs but are not, consequently, you end up with some management who is under qualified and terrible at management.

    Advice to Management

To Kevin: You may be great at FINANCE, but step down and get someone in there that knows MOVIES.

To management in general, look around you, you have a lot of talented people who deserve better than they are getting. Promote through the ranks and stop playing the schoolyard favorites game.

    Pros

Decent benefits. The lot is pretty cool

    Cons

Lack of leadership among departmental management. Managers too worried bout their own jobs to concern themselves with the work environment of their employees. Warner Bros REALLY bad at promoting from within...they put you in your lane and keep you there because it suits them. I would NOT recommend working at Warners. There is very little job security and small chance for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like you actually care, and not as a means to your own ends.
