I have been working at WarnerMedia full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The company offers excellent benefits, and the ability to move around to new departments which eliminates the need to leave in order to learn something new or to grow professionally

    Cons

Promotions are based on if they like you. It has nothing to do with you knowledge, ability or credentials. If they like you, you are successful. If you are not their friends or share personal business with them, they look you over. They will give you merit increases, but you will not be considered for promotions.

I worked at WarnerMedia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits; former colleagues in Legacy group were friendly, supportive and helpful. However, they left for better values, culture, opportunities.

    Cons

Typical Hollywood, superficial culture. Not challenging, could see better opportunity to learn, grow and contribute elsewhere

I have been working at WarnerMedia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent benefits and good time off for old-timers - though I gather they've cutdown vacation days for new hires. Modern, clean office. Working with high-ish quality content.

    Cons

Seemed like it was great when HBO had autonomy under the old CEO, but since merger and formation of WarnerMedia, culture has completely shifted. AT&T has completely done away with any of the traditions HBO partook in that generated enthusiasm for working in television. Decisions regarding HBO Max that should have been made ages ago were made at the last minute including, structural changes, team responsibilities and upper management shifts. Unwanted, additional work from other networks under WarnerMedia thrust upon us, adding way more hours and stress to an already under-staffed department. Senior leadership seems unaware/turns a blind eye to all the overworked people below them. Overall, staff members I've met are nice enough, but lack a sense of warmth. Don't even get me started on the pod people posing as senior executives (newbie Kilar may be ok). Unrelated to all the above, but preventative care covered by company health plans is pitiful (how do they not cover skin cancer checks and prostate exams as preventative care!?)

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at WarnerMedia full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

My position was eliminated in during the Fall of 2019 but I know from my former coworkers still employed there that things have changed so much. Our division used to be very functional and operated like a healthy family, which is due to the management at the top allowing the department heads to manage as they saw fit. The new CEO doesn't seem to allow as much independence and the communication has broken down. Ironic, since it's a communications company.

    Cons

Breakdown of communication from top of company, leaving department heads and consequently, everyone else, less secure about the direction of the company. You'll read a press release and that's how you find out about a new initiative or another layoff company.

I worked at WarnerMedia full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Excellent brands, genuine interest in cross promotion, talented people

    Cons

Has become very bureaucratic, very political as the HQ has shifted from Atlanta to NY/LA. Not the same Turner (literally: it's now all referred to as WarnerMedia)
