Great benefits, atmosphere, and growth potential

      Pros

The company offers great employee benefits including parental leave, PTO, and accommodations. There can be great growth potential depending on the department. Because the company offers so many great benefits, people tend to stay in their roles for a long time so it can take some time to move up.

      Cons

Alienating people of differing opinions. They seem to be very open minded and offer opportunities to grow and learn about current social issues which is absolutely fantastic. However, I’ve noticed that if any employee seems to lean slightly towards the right, they are shunned by coworkers and fear losing their jobs.

Working at Turner was great... until it wasn't.

      Pros

There are many positive things about Turner. The benefits are great, especially 20+ days of PTO a year and the 401k match. Turner lives its commitment to the community and diversity in a myriad of ways. Corporate culture is casual, fun, and inclusive. They don't mind investing in technical tools and training. The absolute best part, however, is working with some incredibly talented, competent, smart, fun people, some of whom can become great friends and mentors. I learned a lot and value my experience here.

      Cons

Finding a career path can be very difficult. Turner is more political than you can possibly imagine. Around the time of the AT&T merger, Turner began to value appearances over reality. Restructuring and cuts were made to make the balance sheets look better, but more work is expected of the remaining teams, leading to burnout. People who disagree - even subject matter experts - are actively excluded from critical decision making. Conflict is not resolved, only ignored in hopes that it will go away. When the work environment becomes this toxic, the best employees leave and don't look back. 2019 morale is not as bad as it was around the "2020" layoffs in 2014, but it's close.

      Your basic standard office job

Jun 27, 2019 - Traffic Log Planning Editor in Atlanta, GA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Great Benefits from the company - Being able to have "Turner" on your resume is apparently a plus.. - Working at the techwood campus in Atlanta amongst other more creative departments is great for networking.

      Cons

Basically... If you love the stability and complacency of a standard office cubical job without any type of travel this is a perfect fit for you. However, If you are more free spirited, entrepreneurial, or creative... DO NOT APPLY! I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS JOB! Everyday feels like its groundhogs day, the day in and day out work load is beyond monotonous . It will slowly start to wear and tear on both your physical and mental well being. Until you become a docile office rat doing whatever "upper management" asks of you. I wish I was able to read a blunt review like this before applying. I took the position because I was contract for a few years and got tired of the uncertainty. So I figured having legit company benefits would be nice for a change. (Especially since I was just a few years out of college) But other than the "essential benefits" such as health, 401k etc. this particular role is beyond boring! It's more to life than just clicking buttons all day and replying back to the same emails daily. I challenge you to do more and go after the position or lifestyle you truly want! DO NOT SETTLE! Hope this helps ;)
