I have been working at Wasatch Property Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are good at putting the right team together. You have a consistent schedule for the most part. They offer benefits, time off and training.

    Cons

They pay a lot less than other property management companies. I feel unheard when I have concerns. They don't put time or training into my current position.

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind that financial managers will be eventually managers, and with absolutely no training or support this is why many end up quitting. I can't be the only financial manager who feels completely ignored and under valued.

I worked at Wasatch Property Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some really awesome individuals in the company that generally care about what we do as property management and are a delight to work with. Great learning experience,

    Cons

Management and higher ups are not professional. The higher ups, including HR, are extremely unprofessional. There have been several instances with the corporate office trying to cover up legalities. They are not very considerate of some of the low income housing when it comes to residents, and are known to throw employees under the bus to save themselves.

    Advice to Management

Be loyal to your employees, especially those that actually enjoy property management. Be more forward and honest, even when you mess up. We are all human, there is no need to fake for the sake of capital.

    Pros

I have been working here since 3/2008. I have seen the company grow in a positive direction. Pros:
    1. There is always room for advancement.
    2. They like to promote staff versus hiring a new person.
    3. They promote based off who is the best candidate for the position versus seniority.
    4. They listen/value staff ideas and concerns, especially the corporate staff and CEO Jarom.
    5. Regionals are an amazing support to staff & tenants.
    6. They value the saying:
    - "Is It The Right Thing To Do"
    - "Is It The Best Decision For The Business / Tenants"
This company truly has integrity, ethics, and morals.
    7. They believe in training & investing in staffs careers with the company.
    8. They offer paid vacation, holidays, AFLAC, 401K matching, health care, bonuses, commission (office staff), mini cap bonuses (outside staff), tool allowance, employee loans, rent discounts, employee summer party, Christmas party, staff lunches, workers Comp lunches, through out the month they do contest for the staff to win prizes or Wa-Bucks.
    9. Dell Loy is the sweetest CEO I have ever met in my life! He genuinely loves his staff, he is generous & values his staff.

    Cons

The only thing I can say is a con is when there is bad apples and Wasatch gets a bad rap for the bad apple. Wasatch truly tries the correct the issues with the bad apples so they can see the bright light at the end of the tunnel.

    Pros

I enjoy cleaning so the actual work was fun.

    Cons

No possible way to move up or make more than $8.65. Was supposed to start at $8.50 and I only made $8.00 for the first three months. After 6 months was assured I was getting a raise to $8.65 and waited 3 months for that as well.

    Pros

Good pay and there is always room for advancement.

    Cons

Not all properties follow policy which causes more work than needed. Policies are there for a reason and every property should be held accountable to follow them.

    Advice to Management

I would definitely have managers take courses in fair housing and following policies every year! When they become too Laxed in their positions they tend to let residents and employees walk all over them! This causes more work for everyone! And there will be lawsuits eventually.

    Pros

I have been here for almost a year and in that time I have already been promoted once and hopefully am working my way to another promotion. If you give it your full effort and are willing to learn how you can improve then you will go far with this company. Their open door policy is truly that - if you have a suggestion then speak up because upper management listens. That is very refreshing. I love all of the positive affirmation I get from upper management, it's very encouraging to see that they see what you are doing even if you don't interact with them face to face everyday.

    Cons

You only get 7 holidays for a full time employee which is pretty low compared to other companies. Although you do get more but you have to work here for a long time to receive those benefits. They also pay much lower than the industry and city standards in the corporate positions at least, don't know about the salaries of on-site employees. Since the company is spread over a few states, with corporate offices in various states, it can be hard to connect to employees who are not in your office or region.
