I have been working at Washington Gas Light Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CEO, CEO, CFO, VP HR, Division Leader of Investor Relation are all approachable and great leaders.

    Cons

Company as a whole is adverse ti change, holding management accountable, and communicating down. Women are not treated fairly in regards to pay.

    Advice to Management

Assess management and departmental structure. Then implement a mass reorganization. Consider effectiveness of Directors and the length if time they held open positions vacant. If longer than 6 months, where the staffing level fell below half staff, should be counseled and staff should be compensated for unjust work load and hours.

    Pros

Great place to work for with plenty of opportunity of advancement. Very fun and safe to work at.

    Cons

no cons that i can think of at the moment, if i had to list a con it would be that some of the locations can be far away from your home but you eventually end up near home.

    Advice to Management

If i had to give advice to management it would be to keep on doing what your doing !!! Love the management team there.

I have been working at Washington Gas Light Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid time off is excellent, good benefits and great pay.

    Cons

Union vs management can be an issue at times. Just like any other company, people complain and believe they have it rough but trust me working in the private sector is much worse!

I have been working at Washington Gas Light Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Job security, re-branding initiative, interesting problems, lots and lots of data, work from home ability, really good 401k and healthcare benefits,

    Cons

Career development can be slow. A lot of the company are people that have been there for 20+ years so they are not always very receptive to younger analysts challenging decisions based on data or statistics. There's a lot of data but the way in which it is organized is across various relational databases, consolidation into a cloud-based solution would be very beneficial.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more when making IT decisions. There's far too much overlap in terms of databases and analytical tools/software

    Pros

It was a good opportunity to learn from experienced professionals about the fields of energy and lobbying.

    Cons

The internship was a bit unorganized, which sometimes meant there wasn't much for me to do.
