I worked at Washington Hospital Healthcare System full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The rate of pay is great, the location is great. Staff is very hard working

    Cons

Management is usually a family member of someone or a friend of someone, and they are not qualified to do the job they are working in. The facility has been known to "create" positions just to keep a person on the payroll

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff. They are the hands on and doing the work.

I have been working at Washington Hospital Healthcare System full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The STATE were here all summer 2017 investigating numerous complaints of patient neglect, forcing staff to work OFF THE CLOCK, staff intimidation and cover-ups.

    Cons

Management will do ANYTHING TO GET THEIR BONUSES!!! 1. Intimidating staff into working off the clock. 2. Intimidating staff into signing-off on training which they have never received. 3. Intimidating staff into giving up vacation and other benefits (ie: sure you can take some of your two weeks of vacation a year. But that week off...I'm going to need you to come in for two shifts right in the middle of the week. What?...

    Advice to Management

Stop running the hospital like it is your own personal piggy bank. You are breaking the staff. Make Unit Managers responsible for ANY break of contract, and for staff turnover. If they break contract or have high turnover, they should loose their bonuses. If they do both, they should be fired.
