I worked at Washington Mutual full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent leadership development program and transparent employee review practices.

    Cons

No longer in business after being seized by the FDIC and sold for a song to JP Morgan Chase.

  3. "Door-to-Door: Not for Everyone"

    Pros

Company has a well-deserved excellent reputation nationwide. Trainers are enthusiastic and know their product(s).

    Cons

Door-to-door selling of supplemental health insurance is not for everyone. After-dark door-knocking in an unfamiliar neighborhood can be a concern for both men and women.

    Advice to Management

Ensure potential agents are comfortable with straight commission and door-to-door selling before they are hired.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I worked at Washington Mutual full-time

    Pros

It was a nice place to work while it lasted. Laid back for a bank. A victim of the financial crisis.

    Cons

It's closed now, shut down by the FDIC and then acquired by Chase. I was laid off with everyone else, so I'm not sure how Chase managed the transition.

    Advice to Management

Work hard, get your retirement back! I know most of you lost it all, particularly those who believed in the company and took stock rather than bonuses.
