    Pros

Big company with established organization with procedures and lot of learning opportunities. Good location close to home. In site cafeteria.

    Cons

They were always scaring people about loosing their jobs and having layoffs. They promoted child care site when I was offer a job and they had it closed a month right after I left my previous job and was hired.

    Advice to Management

I know is hard to manage a slow heavy organization but make use of the talent of your people. There are plenty of us willing o steer the company on the right direction.

I worked at Washington Mutual full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I really enjoyed working at this company due to the company culture. The company had great benefits and incentives for employee retention.

    Cons

Unfortunately the company was seized by the government and sold to JP Morgan Chase. This led to stocks reaching zero value due to the government intervention

    Pros

The people that worked there were the best! The experience was enlightening and I am glad it was part of my tenure.

    Cons

Management knew only one thing and that was make money at all costs, which eventually, lead to their own implosion. In spite of tremendous "in-the-door" volume, the compensation plan was diminished at best and completely geared toward 'Super-Producers'. No front or back-end points. I made more once I left to become a Mortgage Banker.

    Advice to Management

It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for the good times. Standing on the stage with like-minded producing peers was definitely rewarding. It meant a lot to me.

I worked at Washington Mutual (Less than a year)

    Pros

Three different work shifts; Managers were empathetic; if had any disabilities, they are accommodating.

    Cons

Was hired to do another job, however I was moved to another department because they was not aware of how many people they actually hired. If you get injured, upper management was not empathetic and accommodating, which put the managers under them in a tough spot.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, have someone available in a management or lead spot just in case employees get emergency phone calls that require authorization for debit card/account issues.

I worked at Washington Mutual (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a good company. When JP Morgan took over, the benefits were even better. It was easy to get more education and raises were fair.

    Cons

Moving around the company was very difficult.

    Advice to Management

    Wish you here
