    Pros

Highly intellectual work with nice people. Great pay and benefits with a good work life balance. Good job for engineers looking to learn the business.

    Cons

The projects tend to drag on for long periods of time due to lack of experienced resources and the requirement to document everything.

I have been working at Washington River Protection Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very welcoming, helpful and learned a lot about a subject I knew very little about going in. Management was very friendly and accommodating with work schedule. Work is 4-10 hour shifts a week which gives you three day weekends.

    Cons

Projects move very slowly in government work.

I have been working at Washington River Protection Solutions full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The best reasons to work here include the pay in comparison to other jobs in the area. Also, if you get with a good group, the co-workers are enjoyable.

    Cons

There is often a disconnect in communication between the field crew and management. There are also a lot of hoops to jump through because it’s a government run facility.

I have been working at Washington River Protection Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent company to work for at the Hanford site. The work is challenging, pay is excellent, convenient 4-10 schedule, and outstanding 401k match with excellent, low deductible health care coverage. The company truly seems to care about its employees.

    Cons

Government inefficiency & environmental overregulation can interfere with the progress of the work scope. Too much of an us versus them mentality between the union HAMTC workers and the corporation. Longevity of the site can lead to a bit of a good ol' boys mentality and/or nepotism when filling positions.

I worked at Washington River Protection Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Many training opportunities, 4-10hr. shifts with Fridays off, opportunities to take on new tasks. Appears that bonus opportunities will be granted quarterly if company goals are met.

    Cons

Inexperienced management with poor people management skills, generally do not accommodate/support employees or offer career path for advancement. Salary increase based upon average/mean for most all employees.

I have been working at Washington River Protection Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Job keeps you on your toes. Very challenging! Benefits & pay are pretty good! The company is pretty family oriented!

    Cons

Lack of Management support, runs too lean, & the turn over is high! Too many procedures. Too much information in the database that one must learn in a short!
