    Infant at work program
    Room for advancement
Lots of training opportunities for staff that isn't field based
    Great pay and benefits

They are REALLY making strides on making this a company of preference with an amazing work environment!

I have been working at Washington State Department of Transportation full-time

    Pros

Full pension, healthcare, state-tuition waivers and corollary qualifications for student loan forgiveness. Extremely competitive pay, unionized work, and excellent career opportunities.

    Cons

Union work allows for low-effort minimum-level employees to drag down morale. Innovation is unduly mitigated by politics and bureaucracy.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on keeping on.

I worked at Washington State Department of Transportation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    You receive state worker benefits.

    Cons

The mission statement should be, "We've always done it this way." A horrific aversion to innovation and change. My supervisor was/is a dinosaur who leads by fear. He couldn't share a compliment if you waved a $100 bill in his face.

    Advice to Management

The organization needs fresh blood from the more progressive private sector. Most administrators have been leading (?) the org for 20-30 years.
