I have been working at Watch Station International part-time

    Pros

Some people are a delight to work with, don't mind going into work .

    Cons

ABSOLUTE NO HIRING WITHIN I've been with the company for years, and they never promote within . They hire people from other cities who know nothing about the company.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring people just because of their ethncity, and hire for the actual reason that they're intelligent.

    Pros

    - You learn a lot about watches and even grow to have interest in them if you previously did not.
    - Pays decent for an easy job.

    Cons

    - Employee discount is garbage, a lot of times, the customer discount is better than employee.
    - Managers act like you are on commission but you aren't
    - No real incentives to have higher sales
    - They cut your shifts left and right

    Advice to Management

    DO COMMISSION

I worked at Watch Station International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The discount and SOME of your co wokers are great.

    Cons

Where do i begin? You get little to no training but the store manager gets mad when you dont know something. Store manager plays favorites with management and does not give weekly touch bases to every manager consistantly. Tons of gossip and if you dont gossip with them, they think your in a bad mood. The store manager talks bad about her managers to one another but says we better not tell. The store manager stays in the back room pretending to do work but in reality she is on the phone with her mom or gossping about other store managers or people in the district. For the amount of office time that she claims she does, she cant even complete a schedule without errors. The other assistant is a joke as she does nothing but kiss the behind of the store manager and doesnt hold the associates accountable resulting in non effective coaching results.

    Advice to Management

Instead of complaing that things arent getting done, be present on the sales floor and train team correctly. Treat team fairly and use effective constructive criticism instead of giving a lecture like a mom. Stop running your store on fear.

    Pros

Watch Station has a good and fun environment. It is an easy job and it is easy to catch on to.

    Cons

My biggest con would be that I have worked there for 7 months and I still have not been trained properly.
