    Pros

Fun, fast-paced environment. For students and people starting off their careers, this is a great place to learn a lot about sales techniques and customer relationships.

    Cons

The same things that can come along with any customer service job - angry customers, the occasional jerk manager, high turnover

I worked at Waterway Gas & Wash full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people at Waterway are great. There is always a good time to be had. On rainy days there is a lot of downtime that usually results in some work related fun. The money can be really good. I was a cashier and made a pretty good hourly rate + sales. This job is great for students. I worked with several college students who always had a job waiting for them back home when they were on break/holiday. Waterway also offers tuition reimbursement. Plus the owners and corporate officials were nice too. Oh yeah and the customers were cool too, I met several local celebrities while working at Waterway.

    Cons

For cashiers there is some sales pressure. Cashiers must use last names with every credit card purchase, and also pitch on each purchase. Cashiers are also in charge of in house clean-up duties, stocking, making coffee ect. (just like any gas station) which can be really tough on busy carwash days, and if you don't get it done in your shift time you are expected to stay after.
There are no designated lunch or bathroom breaks, you have to take what you can when you can.

    Advice to Management

    Build more stores.

I have been working at Waterway Gas & Wash part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Money. Cashiers get paid 8+ an hour and get bonuses for selling memberships and coupons. The bonuses for my store are anywhere from $100 to $300 a month. Free car washes.

    Cons

Only get paid twice a month. Plus the bonus check so technically 3 times a month. Overall it's an ok job but I've had better. One of the co workers is a b!tch but there's nothing you can do about it. Most of the kids are really snobby because they like to put their stores in rich neighborhoods so the customers are snobby too. Also I'm always told what I'm doing wrong and not what I've done well at. Also I clean everything like I'm supposed to but majority of the other cashiers don't clean so it makes my job harder.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more positive, and if someone doesn't do their job correctly, make them or fire them.

    Pros

The people were very understanding and easy to work with. Expectations were always very clear and relayed well.

    Cons

Frequent managerial switches. If you are a cashier the pay isn't very good and I stopped getting as many hours as I asked for.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing managers around and work more on the communication with cashiers.

I worked at Waterway Gas & Wash full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Waterway gives you the opportunity to change location for state to state. This gives you the ability to create work references for future jobs.

    Cons

Your paycheck or the amount of hours you work were always wrong, but the company was always willing to fix the problem. In my advice, Waterway need to get a time clock for people to clock in and out.
