I have been working at Watsco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some really wonderful people in the subsidiaries. I would work with or for them anything. Extremely knowledgeable and can get things done.

    Cons

The corporate structure is a joke. Specifically, the internal audit and HR functions are virtually useless and provide no value to the companies core mission. Fraud has been committed at multiple subsidiaries and internal audit is powerless to stop it because they do not understand the environment. HR is anything but a resource and covers for poor management.

    Advice to Management

Decentralize operations as much as possible.

I have been working at Watsco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They talk a solid game, draw out a very good long-term vision and story. They could with some top level executive training turn into a much better organization.

    Cons

Always worrying about the share price which makes them very short sighted. Lots of high level decisions are made with leaders with very low skills pero like, lot's of B2B HVAC experience. It is an environment built on who you know and how long you have worked here. Very old boyz club here.

    Advice to Management

Think longer term not always stealing from every corner to hit a share price. Build teams with real leaders that have experience and knowledge. Set realistic goals and support teams more.

    Pros

there isn't any Pros that I can think of at Boreal Intl

    Cons

Management needs to re evaluate their employees especially managers at each branch. They have zero understanding of the business and their demands are unrealistic, because they don't understand the movement.

    Advice to Management

time to change everyone, bring new talent with experience.

I have been working at Watsco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As part of a larger corporation there were many sources for products and services. There were also many opportunities for networking throughout the United States along with many of the benefits such as insurance, retirement and stock purchasing plans within the company.

    Cons

The highly regimented reporting structure made it nearly impossible to react to any changes in the marketplace in a timely manner. Atlantic was also in a declining industry and little attempts have been made to expand or make changes to compensate for the loss of the core business.

    Advice to Management

    Fight more for your people
