    Pros

I really liked the hours I was able to get a lot of overtime working there you had different area where you can work so you wasn't in one area doing one job all the time.

    Cons

the challenge I had there was standing on my feet for 10.5 hours a day six days a week sometimes. And management didn't acknowledge temp workers as far as they weren't invited to parties rewards that was giving out temps didn't receive one, they wasn't included in discussions.

    Advice to Management

Advice I would give Management would be to invest in mats for your employees to stand on.

I worked at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice environment . Great health plans . Pay is good.

    Cons

To much favoritism. Example I know for a fact a certain Mgr has brought over people from her old company ( A major office supply retail company based in Florida) And every single one of them has been promoted with in there first year over other people who work there rear ends off that have been there 5 to over 10 years!! She even has one gentleman that knows nothing about in inner workings of his department that she has to keep moving around and give him a different title! And yes he was a former employee at her previous employer.

    Advice to Management

I think they should have some one from Corporate take a CLOSE look at the operations in Broward County Florida ( Anda ) division. Talk to some of the long term employees that are still there. That really do their jobs well but feel like they have hit a dead end.

I worked at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay scale is excellent. Benefits were great.

    Cons

Horrible leadership; focused specifically on lining their own pockets. Employees call the company Wack-ta-vis.

    Advice to Management

    No need. They wouldn't listen.

I have been working at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very good 401K plan and reasonably good benefits in general.

    Cons

Culture of bullying, finger-pointing and punishment, highly political environment, employees discouraged from challenging status quo, opaque review process, silo mentality and culture, us vs. them attitude with quality vs. manufacturing (quality vs. quantity), culture to "release everything" and rush everything through at all costs, focus on petty issues instead of big picture, blatant favoritism (good ole boys club type environment) exhibited within certain groups by management, weak site HR, no systems to protect and fairly evaluate strong individual contributors who are not "popular" with management, long history of regulatory compliance issues, lack of clear standards for promotions or personal development, unfair work distribution, history of unqualified or insufficiently qualified personnel and management, poor communication, no leadership training (and it shows), lack of professionalism by many site managers, no 360 reviews for management despite repeated requests by employees.

    Advice to Management

    Read the cons.

    Pros

Time off and benefits package are exceptional. There are opportunities to grow, but management will hold you back through inner office politics.
The Corona site is the only large pharma company in the inland empire.

    Cons

Pay is extremely below industry standard. Even after a so-called "salary restructure" salary is still low.
Long unappreciated working hours, forced to work weekends with no compensation (not even lunch to say thank you for 6 days of work!!!!!!!)
Chemist/Scientist work until testing is completed.
    Management is 8-5 without fail.
Structure of lab is very poor, Senior Chemist/reviewers do minimal work, while ChemI/II take the grunt of the workload.
No matrix's are performed on quantity of lab workload, increase production without additional staffing.

    Advice to Management

IF YOU GET 30% MORE PRODUCT, YOU NEED 30% MORE STAFF. YOU DO NOT WORK YOUR CURRENT STAFF 30% MORE WITHOUT COMPENSATION!!!!

Look at what you "experienced" & higher paid scientist are doing? Are you getting you money's worth?

Develop some matrix's for testing, workload, quantity of product.

Mr. Bisaro should stop focusing on the bottom line and focus on his people.

    Cons

No opportunities to growth at watson

    Advice to Management

Recognize the value and the skills of employees, promote internally to motivate

    Pros

    A great Company...
A good work/life balance, good 401k matching, and great people.
Knowing we are making a difference in people's lives is what drives this workforce.

    Cons

    A great Company... on paper
Upper management will not get involved. It allows them to blame their people when things go south.
Upper management too busy looking for their next job or how to impress the people above them.
A true Manager/Director/Supervisor puts the needs of his or her people ahead of their own, not here though.
A great place to work if you are a screw up. You will get moved around and get more experience for your resume.
A bad place to work if you are a good worker. They will keep you in the same spot so they do not have to deal with the hassle of promoting you and/or finding a replacement.

Can't see Watson Corona lasting another 3 years the way the cards are playing out.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the morale. If the economy was better, this place would be empty. Doubt there is a single satisfied employee (except where noted above about being a screw up).

    Pros

The pay and benefits are pretty good but that is about it.

    Cons

Lack of professional growth and promotion opportunities. Kissing ass seems to get you everywhere even for the most incompetent of people. Boss would never come into work and would not communicate that he was not coming into work. Coworkers would come to work at all hours of the day. There was no one to answer to. Very unprofessional atmosphere. Expected you to work all hours of the day and was even told to possibly delay my vacation plans so that I could get a project done. Horrible work/life balance. Corona location is nothing but a shell anymore with all the layoffs and I'm sure more layoffs to come.

    Advice to Management

Look at the competent people that actually get all the work done and watch out for those who take credit for something that someone else did.

Former Employee - Training Specialist in Fort Lauderdale, FL
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The majority of the employees are friendly. Great to work when provided with assignment and left alone to complete, without being badgered consistently about the progress of completion.

    Cons

Lots of favoritism with management and their employees in regards to promotions, time-off and comp days. Some upper management are very unprofessional in regards to how they speak to their subordinates - yelling, cursing and inappropriate reprimanding.

    Advice to Management

Bringing in consultants who have no idea of how the company is run and expecting them to make recommendations on how to run the company more efficiently is just a waste of money. Especially, when the majority of them just sit around for long periods of time through the day and do nothing and get paid big bucks.

    Pros

There are some very qualified and strong personnel who are not challenged to the full extent. Working with these individuals help to bring out some strong qualities.

    Cons

Leadership is poor and very short sighted for the company

    Advice to Management

Stop, think and then act. Do not act and then think if it was the right decision.
