Pros
Worked in Lynn, Massachusetts office from 2011-2014. I loved the coworkers. Great experience for a career in Business and Accounting.
Cons
Received VERY POOR training skills (especially processing checks for Wolters Kluwer) which caused a lot of errors. Failure to let us know what category a check needed to be place in so the errors would not continue.

So much potential, so few eyes on the prize
Jul 23, 2013 - Anonymous Employee in Omaha, NERecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Comfortable environment, dress, hours and the people, nearly all of them, are great to work with, for and lead. Strong hold in a tough market with incredible revenue and strategic potential.
Cons
Having a really hard time capitalizing on any of the revenue or people potential. Deals are missed or completely ruined by poor quality due to understaffed delivery and solution groups. The constant failure to recognize and grow the potential future leadership of this company is noticed by nearly every employee. There is no career growth for anyone that doesn't live in Mosinee, which is too bad because there are some real leaders that reside outside of it. The constant software and delivery quality issues make it really tough for anyone to feel successful or good about what they do.

Dynamic and Supportive Company End to End
Jan 16, 2013 - Customer Service - Support and Implementations in Mosinee, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
WFS supports its employees very well. Management does their best to ensure that employees have visibility to the direction and focus of the company. Employees are extremely dedicated and focused. They all are very helpful of each other and have a 'We are in it together' mentality. Customer focus is key and all management and employees share in this. WFS is a fast paced high intensity company which is a lot of fun to work with. It does require dedication and passion.
Cons
WFS is a small company who works with very large customers. This causes some growing pains which cause confusion for employees. The size of WFS allows for a lot of flexibility and movement making them appear to withhold information from employees due to decisions in flight. Management works hard to keep as much information available as possible and is always operating with focus of growing the company and supporting its employees. Recent upper management changes have helped WFS significantly.

Treats employees like adults, appreciates their contributions
Aug 23, 2012 - Sales/Marketing in Mosinee, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
WFS has gone a long way towards figuring out different ideas for events, food, special "treats" and so on for their workforce to keep them interested and motivated. I think it works pretty well. In addition, most of the managers are extremely accessible and easy to talk to. I feel very respected for my expertise. Staff have been friendly and respond back to questions quickly.
Cons
IT policies are really strict here, so there are quite a few tasks you would be able to get done on your home PC in a few minutes or seconds but end up taking hours or days because of security restrictions and so on. Also, if you work at the Mosinee location, you will be pretty far (10 miles) from Wausua itself so options for lunch dining and so on can be limited without some planning.

Poor Benefits, Limited Opportunities for Pay Increases
May 28, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in Wausau, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Company is still located in Wausau even after being purchased by Deluxe and has not done mass layoffs or other large changes. Looks as if the current operations and product lines will remain.
Cons
Future still up in the air to some degree. Hard to say what new owners will decide to do with the company and its employees longer term in areas that are easy to consolidate like finance, accounting, marketing, sales. No change in benefits since acquisition, so they are as poor as ever. Start at higher pay than peers in the region but it's a facade as the cost of company benefits especially healthcare are way higher than other companies.

Good place to start, management needed to learn how to promote
Feb 13, 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I loved to work here because I loved my customers. I also loved my coworkers for the most part. The option to work remote was great as well
Cons
Management never gave the chance for people to grow, once you got into a position, there was never a chance to go up unless you went to another department. Reviews were limited on how much the company made so you were stuck on only getting a certain number no matter how well you performed. If sales did bad, you got a 3 out of 5. Since I left the company has been bought so this could have changed.

Good company needs a better strategy and direction
Sep 30, 2013 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Wausau Financial has good people and good software products. Because of this, customers tolerate their weaknesses related to software release and implementation. Management has the tactical elements down so the company is stable and solid financially.
Cons
Wausau Financial lacks a clear product strategy and creates a good deal of its own issues because they are unsure how their products should interact or align. There is also no clear corporate strategy which leaves individual managers trying to define it for their groups. Overall salary strategy seems to be to underpay in Central Wisconsin in order to afford the new hires located around the country.
