I worked at Wave Broadband full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent healthcare benefits, perks that are not really helpful.

    Cons

Punitive leave policy, horrible work environment, management is incompetent and engages in cronyism, you cant survive on the pay, commission is not at all what they say it is and they can take it away after you have earned it as a punishment, company has deceitful billing practices that cause constant escalations with customers, forced overtime, micromanaging that is weird and scary. HR is incompetent and allows management to implement illegal polices, and the silly prize system they have is for children...not adults who are trying to feed their families.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to someone who knows what they are doing. It's not a toy.

I worked at Wave Broadband (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's no longer my nightmare.

    Cons

Well, one positive is I do t work at Wave anymore. I'd rather live under a bridge than be at Wave. See Also- Soul Cancer.

    Advice to Management

Sell already. All you want is to get bought, just admit it for 💩 sake. Don't Trump it with Alternative Facts you chumps.

I worked at Wave Broadband full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get paid on time
    Set hours
    Monthly Bonus

    Cons

Won't evacuate building during a fire alarm, will tell you to keep taking calls.
Won't evacuate building during a bomb threat. (both of which happened during my employment)
    Abusive customers.
Not allowed to request that customers treat you with respect/as a human.

    Advice to Management

Allow the CSR/TSR to actually stand up for themselves. All you seem to care about is the money, and NOT your employees. You need to care more about your employee's mental health and happiness. Also, if there's a bomb threat, EVACUATE THE BUILDING.

I have been working at Wave Broadband full-time

    Pros

Good place to get your foot in the door to learn something about the industry before you flee for a better paying alternative.

    Cons

Lack of communication from the VP level. Company is just going through the motions until they sell to Comcast, Charter or someone else. No long-term planning being discussed. Work site and building area is like a war zone. Construction on the new Kirkland Urban means no parking for anyone. You need to park 1 mile away and shuttle bus in unless you get there early enough to find parking on the street. Good luck trying to go anywhere for lunch or even to nearby QFC due to the construction. They can't even hold interviews on site because of the lack of parking. Management keeps dangling the promise of a new building in front of everyone, but it's 2 or 3 years away, and everyone knows Wave will be sold and gone by then. Really demoralizing. Add to the fact that you will be severely underpaid here compared to just about anywhere else, and its just rubbing salt in the wound. Every year we are subjected to employee satisfaction surveys, and every year they totally ignore the core issues of concern. We spend one hour talking about the results and that's it for the year. Totally inept and narcissistic senior leadership that only care about cutting costs and personnel to be more attractive for the next buyer.

    Advice to Management

Every year communication and compensation are the leading areas of concern on our surveys, yet you continue to ignore them both. One or two emails from the CEO a quarter is not good communication. Your staff wants to know more about the future of this company. And pay us fairly, dammit!

    Pros

Great group of people to work with. Co-workers willing to help each other to get tasks done.

    Cons

What more can I say....Pay sucks! Significantly below market rate and overloaded with responsibilities. They don't value their employees. They just take take and take and abuse you until you can't stand it anymore and you leave. Annual review is more of an insult than anything else. Lots of favoritism. Employees turnover is amazingly high (it's like a revolving door) . Company made all employees to believe that they pay their employees at market rate. ( That's baloney!) Each year they have employees' survey....and the two most lowest scores are: pay and lack of communication from management team. They made many attempts to resolve these issues and when it comes to the "pay" discussion they spent like two minutes on the subject ( literally they brushed it off...truly sad!)
It's no brainer...take some money away from top managements and distribute to the rest of workers to bring them up to market rate. DONT EVER CONSIDERED OF WORKING FOR WAVE...YOU WILL RIDE THE WAVE!!

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring all the VP's and pay them a ton load of $$$. Let's start paying the rest of your staff more and bring them up to market rate than you don't have to deal with such a high turnover rate across all departments. Let's show that you care for the rest of your staff.

    Pros

At least they legally have to pay me or else it wouldn't be worth it.

    Cons

Everything, hard to work with. The only good reviews are from companies they have taken over.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees personal lives. A lot of them have families.

    Pros

Free soda, pizza sometimes, they'll hire anyone off the street who has heard of internet or cable. Centrally located in Kirkland.

    Cons

Mandatory Overtime, Overly Micromanaged, clock in system that counts you late past 15 seconds. 3 tardies and you lose have your bonus pay. Never ending calls, angry/rude customers. Tons of favoritism and back stabbing. Dead End job, no upward mobility. Massive Turn over.

    Advice to Management

Kick employees off the phones for a couple hours to do emails or something to keep their sanity. Stop Micro managing. Pay more than a fast food joint! (No, offering a raffle for a $50.00 amazon gift card doesn't count) Stop number of calls/time length incentive pay and just pay techs a good wage. The tech pool is small around here, we all know each other, and word gets around quick about bad companies.

I worked at Wave Broadband full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No overtime anymore. Always new faces due to high turnover.

    Cons

Lack of vision from the CEO. Lack of necessary tools and equipment to do the job correctly. ALWAYS out of materials. No room for advancement or significant pay raises. Useless new upper management team all trying to make everything exactly like Comcast. Maybe soon they will get bought out by their nemesis.

    Advice to Management

Stop bringing in useless has-been executives from other cable companies. You need to bring in a better image. So many people here will tell you how they did it at their last company. If your last company was so great why did you leave or get let go??? The CEO and COO are in denial of just how bad this company is being ran with the continuous turnover. Look at what you are spending to constantly keep training new people. Get a clue and look at the big players in this industry.

    Pros

Headquarters in a nice location; good healthcare options.

    Cons

Lack of management training; poor communication; not much room to grow; HR poorly informed/trained. Company still has no presence on Social Media.

    Advice to Management

Train your management and engage with your employees on day to day activities rather than just ignoring them.
