The most unprofessional call center I've encountered

    Pros

There is free soda and tea. You can get a discounted ORCA card if needed. You get a small but regular paycheck.

    Cons

Firstly, you need to be prepared for a high school environment. In my department, there is a lead who out loud knit-picks emails received. This lead also likes to criticize and belittle subordinates to other subordinates. One of the now former employees blew her nose very loudly (annoying yes) and the lead said, "Is there an elephant is here." Also, after helping a subordinate and he was safely back at his desk, he called the subordinated "retarded." Professionalism is not to be expected from even the directors. One of the directors likes to sing or make funny voices very loudly in the call center. That's when she is not screaming, "Roll to the next call." If you work in customer service be prepared for required overtime every week because they can't keep employees. The computer programs are a joke. The have one from the 1980s which they are allegedly finally going to retire. However, looking at the lousy new programs they have been launching, it's doubtful that will make much difference. They keep piling more and more tasks to each work group and adding more and more steps to each tasks. Efficiency is not in their vocabulary. Don't expect more that lateral movement in this company.

    Pros

Friendly people, free soda, and a convenient office location make for an easy place to work. The company wants to help the customers, and will hopefully work to that end.

    Cons

Inadequate internal support/systems - the call center of the business is a meat grinder. My training class was large, at 10 people, we lost 3 and the trainer before training was finished - and in the three weeks since, have lost at least 2 more, and I am leaving in a couple of days. The departments have little communication, and even smaller amount of common policies. And the final nails are lack of incentive to work there, as well as an abundance of unnecessary overtime.

    The worst of the worst

Feb 1, 2018 - Customer Service Representative in Kirkland, WA

    Pros

Great coffee machines, free soda, holiday party ( great ) Nice people, who really care about your wellbeing. That’s about the only thing I will miss.

    Cons

Where does one begin? Training, worst training I have ever had... 4 weeks, 1 week class time and the other 3 weeks thrown to the wolves for slaughter. Lazy class time, that just didn’t provide enough time to understand everything. One of the worst KB’s I’ve ever used. Which brings me to another thing, old computers that keep crashing.

    Pros

Free soda, pizza sometimes, they'll hire anyone off the street who has heard of internet or cable. Centrally located in Kirkland.

    Cons

Mandatory Overtime, Overly Micromanaged, clock in system that counts you late past 15 seconds. 3 tardies and you lose have your bonus pay. Never ending calls, angry/rude customers. Tons of favoritism and back stabbing. Dead End job, no upward mobility. Massive Turn over.

I never knew I could work somewhere worse than Comcast

Jul 13, 2017 - Technical Support Representative in Kirkland, WA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Free soda. Floor reps are generally nice and easy going

    Cons

Literally everything else. The pay is a joke, and makes living anywhere nearby literally impossible (good luck earning more than $15 an hour unless you've worked call centers for 10+ years!) The holy "$500/month" extra bonus is impossible to get. With the person who QA's calls outright admitting that nobody has gotten that in months You can lose half your bonus in one day just by being more than 15 seconds late back from a break. Literally 1 minute out of schedule and you lose up to $250 Supervisors are malicious and distrustful and will micromanage you into the ground No possibility of advancement. Tier 2 reps get no extra money, and team leads have to quit for more positions to open up Tech support is a meat grinder for employees. Training usually has at least 60% of the people in it leave before they even finish the one month training There's so few employees that getting anything done for a customer is impossible. Want a tech out to your house? enjoy a 5 day waiting period! Any time anything breaks. Phones go off the hook with customers waiting over 30 minutes usually to be told about it Place is falling apart. Air conditioners don't work properly, desks are dirty and dusty and covered in food crumbs Doing the right thing is punished for taking so much time, instead of taking as many calls as possible

    Bad company with bad management

    Jan 5, 2016 - Anonymous Employee

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Free soda, some decent people, casual (in some cases, way too casual) dress code.

    Cons

A new regime of management has come in and basically crippled progress and set unrealistic expectations. They say customers and employees come first and can be quite convincing in their talk but their actions don't support their words. If you are the type of person who works hard to move ahead, stay far away from this company. You will just be disappointed.
