    Where dreams go to die...

    Pros

Wave broadband will give you a better perspective of what a terrible job is. If you are curious to see just how not green that grass can be, look no further.

    Cons

I have never witnessed such lying, cheating, or manipulation in my life. Wave's culture is something out of a television drama.. Employees are expected to bribe other departments for favors in order to meet their quotas. The executive management team will sporadically change things seemingly based out of boredom, and then change the same things again before seeing the first ideas through. 1 step sideways, 3 steps backwards. There is no long-term goal as a company to stay in business, they seem to be holding out long enough for the investors to be able to sell off to a bigger company. There is no concern for the well being of the customer, I have witnessed countless customers that were wronged by the company hear the ill-fated "policy says I can't help you"... This company does not train, does not track data, does not know what they are doing. Most of the leadership team is promoted from within leading to a very shallow perspective across the company of how to operate and lead a business. Due to this inherent close mindedness, they will continue to turn a blind eye to their faults and arrogantly continue to speed towards that impending doom. This company is not for you, no matter who you are. There are better options... any option...

    Wave Lacking Effective Leaders

    Pros

I work with great hard working people. Company benefits are decent. Company shares by giving quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Management and leadership lack experience in managing teams, no true leaders. HR dept is very weak. Titles are inflated VP's at Wave should be Managers and Directors Supervisors.

    Senior Managment

    Pros

New senior management has been allowed to bring in their own team in and clean out the personnel that made Wave successful in the first place! Waves growth was based on the hard work of many personnel wearing multiple hats and not getting recognition for a job well done.

    Cons

They are not competing on the ground level with proper safety tools, training, actual tools to perform the work techs are asked to do and low pay. They claim to have competitive pay but when you actually work for another company and get to see the pay structure Wave is way off!

Horrendous place to work or to be a customer !

    Pros

Get out of there !! For customers, cancel your service ! This is a company that treats employees very badly !!

    Cons

True hiring and firing monthly ! Quick to do so called training classes where the trainer constantly brags and seems very uninterested in wave or his job. The reps are constantly monitored (every call is recorded). If you don't con someone into getting a service (note: the majority of customers are in collections). When customers say they cannot pay, the rep gets canned for not conning them into paying their full bill. Very very small time operation ! Stay far away !!

Paycheck is OK, but about 1/2 of industry norm for enterprise.

    Cons

Leadership totally sucks and the only division that gets any marketing or internal attention is Wave G.

Wave is great! Great people, great building culture!

    Pros

Work-life balance is great!! The people! Everyone is very friendly and inclusive. Wave is always trying to reward, promote, and compensate their employees. I see people getting promoted weekly - and they deserve it too - hard working people,a nd the company notices that. There is no cap or limit or time-frame to qualify so you can truly grow and grow and grow your career at Wave as long as you're a good worker! They have FUN- Constantly putting together events, lunches, catering, food trucks, even all company meetings are fun and high energy. They enjoy their work and lvoe it. Everyone works together really cohesively and is there when you need them. I know a lot of people on here have negative reviews, but I also notice a lot of them quit or were let go, and I think it's unfortunate that Wave has so many bad/negative reviews because it is not a bad place. People really only take the time to post when they have an adverse reaction. Wave has been a home for me and I know it could welcome you with open arms. It is growing, it is adapting, and change is inevitable - but change will be anywhere you go...

    Cons

Wave is growing, and if you can't grow and adapt then I would recommend to go into it open minded, you'd be surprised how beautiful it can be for your life, mind, and career when you're not pessimistic or stuck!

    Pros

Wave is focused on two key objectives: Treat the customer well. Treat the employees well. This is a great place to work if you really care about people. Plans are to hire nearly 100 people this year as we grow our business. Very existing place to work with lots of career growth opportunities. Very transparent management style with goals and objectives updates being shared regularly.

    Cons

The Cable TV industry is messed up ... content providers raise their price so we have to raise our price and the customer blames us. BUT, the internet side of the business is great! We actually offer Gigabit connections to residents that works! Our competitors claim they do, but they don't.

    Frustrated

    Jan 29, 2014 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

There are some good people working for Wave.

    Cons

Well, mainly it has to do with the idea of doing more with less until you can do everything with nothing. Everything the company does can be traced back to either stupidity, cheapness, or pettiness. If you excel in these three areas then you are management material. As many technicians say here, "Safety third!". 1) Technicians never know when they will off work 2) Skilled technicians (from Comcast) have to shoulder the difficult work for the "bros" 3) "Bros" are Guamanians that are off by 4pm or alternately schedule their work into your clip (i.e. new connects) 4) There is no training program, but if you are skilled you are also responsible for other outlying systems 5) Metrics to measure your job performance encourage lying and cheating and are not actively reviewed (or understood) by management. 6) "We just do what we're told" 7) Buy your own tools with your own money and pay your own parking tickets and traffics tickets that are held on to by the company so that there is an additional late fee. (To be fair Wave will pay some parking tickets) 8) You will not get a job performance review. You may bring it up several times and ask what you must do to get a reasonable raise, but in the end you will not get one. 9) Wave might falsify documents to aid in getting you fired. 10) I promise you that you will have days where you are hanging off the the telephone pole at night and yell "f^%" from the top of your lungs.
