I worked at Wawa full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits. 401k. Good associates and i loved all the customers. They made my day. I met great people. Good values and great ceo. Good job chris.

    Cons

Boss was extremely rude and demanding and put heavy workload on people that dont say no. Stressful. Hard to move up. Had to put orders away with only 2 other people and if something wasnt done i was told to stay late every day.

    Advice to Management

Remember we have our own lives and deserve respect and as a former manager i can say i was treated like total crap. Worked 4 years and trained most managers who were moved up before me. Stop feeding into associate gossip. Focus on the job at hand and making the community better.

I have been working at Wawa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, decent pay for the amount of work required, stock ownership program, and management generally has your back with rude customers. Excellent career advancement, but only if you work inside.

    Cons

The biggest con is lack of communication. I can't tell you the number of times I've heard about things that would affect my store - and even my job! - secondhand through gossip. Management seems to get emails with updates, but they don't share; why not put this information on the store intranet?

Also, very few options for career advancement, at least on the fuel court. The Fuel Manager position was removed from my store (maybe from the entire company?) shortly before I was hired, so unless you're willing to transfer inside, you're going to be stuck as a fuel associate. Even those who have additional responsibilities (blue book, for instance) don't get compensated more.

    Advice to Management

Please communicate more. I would like the information available on the store intranet, but even a printout about upcoming changes posted in the break room would be preferable to being given no warning before something happens.
