Very nice total compensation especially for longer tenured M levels. Wawa has a fun and exciting brand which is always changing. I found it very easy to be enthusiastic about the products and service we offered the customers. It's an opportunity to learn a wide area of responsibility and how to adapt in a fast paced retail environment.

Cons

Wawa has come a long way in terms of operational standardization, however as you transfer from store to store you will eventually find out that there can be a stark contrast in the style of management you will encounter from your GM. Corporately, Wawa has a solid values system, but could use a little more focus when it comes to enforcing it. General Managers seem to get a lot of autonomy. Also, be prepared to work on-call. You need to be good at planning ahead to ensure a solid work life balance. Be prepared and organized if you want to work for this company. Treat your associates with respect, and always be willing step in so they can grow in their positions

Great benefits and pay rate, fast paced work environment, great co-workers, cross training, and flexible hours for associates. I've worked at Wawa for three years and in that time period I have learned so many valuable skills and grown as a person and I've made friends for life with associates and managers both.

Cons

The new store leadership structure makes it difficult to move up and limits opportunities. If you are trying to move up in the company there is no work/life balance. Depending on which store you work in there is a lot of drama between the management and between the associates. At times you can give it your all and work harder than everybody else and get no acknowledgement or credit.

ZERO chance of getting into corporate unless you work in the store/dairy for 10 years. Some stores are run by dictators. Drama & Cattiness

Flexibility in needing certain days off, weekly paychecks, the core values, monthly bonuses for M levels. The 6 Core Values.

Cons

Work/life balance can be tough to balance but not impossible so long as you have your priorities set. You need to set yourself up for success by setting up your *team!* (this isn't really a con, but if you're not a great leader you WILL struggle.) If you're tenured within the company but someone comes in AT that level, they will make more $ than you.
